Did you mean:

Cancelling order as BUYER REQUESTED without them asking?

Just hypothetically, what would happen if I cancelled a transaction as 'buyer wants to cancel' without then actually asking.

I had a buyer outbid everyone on one of my auctions...5 days passed and no payment...buyer ignoring all messages of me asking if they want to cancel..

i noticed the buyer was also a clothing seller, so I messaged them but through one of their items to 'ask a question' about one of their items to see if they'd respond.

Within 5 minutes the buyer/seller answered my question... I responded saying thanks for the quick response, and asked why the were ignoring my messages about the item they won at auction. Of course they ignored this message and didn't respond..

The auction only ended at $4.25, but waiting a week for someone to completely ignore me while i know they are getting my messages is extremely annoying to say the least.

Can i I just go and cancel it and say buyer request? I highly doubt I can, but curious what would happen.

Agreed. But clearly it seems as if nobody actually KNOWS what can or will happen if a seller does... of course I'm not going to, because I don't go against policy. But nobody actually KNOWS the answer of what WOULD happen..

The last seller who LIED and did a buyer requested cancelation on me when I never asked to cancel, no longer sells here. I called CS, told them exactly what the seller was doing to dodge an OOS defect, that I did NOT appreciate the seller LYING about me requesting the cancelation, and that I was NOT a happy camper. CS told me it would be noted and that I would be able to leave appropriate feedback. A few days later I noticed that their store and listings were gone, and months later they  are still gone.  Apparently I was not the only one they did that to.

So yeah...go ahead...do an unrequested buyer cancelation. Maybe you can find out what COULD happen.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

I believe after the unpaid item case opens the buyer has 5 days to pay? At least how that is how it does it on auto case?

It's a 4-day minimum waiting time for payment after the case has been opened (either by the seller or by the automated Unpaid Item Assistant). The case can be closed at any time after that.

I'm aware this is an unpaid item case. It was already opened at 48 hours..

Well, you didn't state that in your initial post; otherwise I could have not bothered with the entire second paragraph of my reply.

I'm not sure, but I don't believe you can begin a Cancellation after you're already opened a UPI, can you? I thought it was one or the other.

Maybe it's just late, but this whole thread has me totally confused.  Why is this a thing?

Well, why don't you go right ahead and try it and then you can let us all know how that works out for you!

I cannot seriously believe you're exerting so much energy over $4.25. May be time for you to pursue alternative career options.
