Have things changed? I have a listing scheduled and the item is no longer available. I had the listing scheduled to start in a few days.
Long story short: I go to 'Scheduled Items for Sale' and NOW there's NO delete button, just an 'Edit' and 'Revise.'
I've done this many times in the past and suddenly I can't remove/delete the inactive listing? Jeeez'! Do I have to wait until it's active and remove it...so Ebay gets the listing fee? That seems to be their idea here.
Or the site's 'features' have gone nuts!
I tried to remove it through the 'Edit' process, but there is no way.
We've done this for many years, and this is a first for me.

HOW TO CANCEL/delete A SCHEDULED LISTING before it goes live:
Verified twice - October 2020
Step 1: Click on "Help & Contact" at the footer of your eBay account page
Step 2: Search for this term "How to cancel a scheduled listing"
Step 3: A list of your scheduled listings will automatically appear at the top
Step 4: Click on the picture of the scheduled listing you want to cancel/delete
Step 5: Select reason "no longer available"
Step 6: DONE!

I am on a PC using Chrome and Windows 10.
No delete buttons next to the items in schedule view, only "Add note" and "Edit".
There is no "classic view" option under myEbay. Or anywhere else.
Simply, there is no option to do anything to a scheduled listing.
Tried going to the site in FireFox, exactly the same thing.
(No delete drop-down option next to the items in scheduled view, only "Add note" and "Edit".)
I do not have storefront, I just list things from time to time.
If anyone knows how to cancel scheduled items,, please post the answer here, thanks. At the moment it's looking like I will have to list it now, let the listing start, then cancel it , which I don't really want to do in case someone quickly bids on it.

Ok, I found the answer, it is not clear, but here is what to do in 2020, on a desktop, if you are an ordinary seller (not a store):
1. go to myEbay at the top of the screen on the main site. Hover over the link
2. choose "Selling" from the drop-down menu. Quickly, before the site changes.
3. Now, just above the list of items, at the top right of the list (not of the page), you will see a small font blue link that says "switch to classic view"
4. choose this link. click the "Switch" button.
5. (optional extra :Complain in the feedback, tell them why did they use a new view that leaves out essential functions?)
6. Now you will see a list of scheduled items with checkboxes next to them. Select the checkbox for the scheduled item you want to cancel
7. Click the button below which says "Delete".
This will delete it permanently, instead of just cancelling it back into drafts which is what you would like, so it's not a perfect solution, it's just annoying, eBay if you are reading this please fix it!!! thank you.
As a software developer myself, I would get fired if I released a new version of a big production site that did not include the functionality of the old site. Just lazy. And so hard to find the solution. And this has been a problem for about a year, judging by the comment here.

Thank you for this, it automatically deleted the scheduled item through “Help and Contact! Your solution is the only one that works for me, without resorting to listing and immediately cancelling.
I managed to find the Delete button under the Classic View, Scheduled section but after Confirming the deletion I always receive a Server Error from Ebay - “It’s not you, it’s us, server is down”. It’s not merely down, it appears to be abandoned.

I had to call ebay too. For my non-store ebay pages. The interface is much easier if you have a store, or maybe my opinion is "store-centric"? LOL!
Go to "Activity" "Selling" "Active" then wiil appear a drop-down menu on the right of each item, entitled "Sell Similar". The bottom option on this drop-down is "End Listing."
