Very, very irritating. A buyer realised he couldn't pay, asked me to cancel the transaction (it was more than one hour after purchase) which I did through the normal eBay route, which then states it will re-list the item, with normal fees etc - which has been done - but at the loss of all the watchers! Is there any way to resolve this?

From my experience watching a n item. that whenever a watched item ends for whatever reason, and is relisted ebay lets me know that the watched item has been re-listed. Give it a day or so and you should regain some of the former watchers, if they are still interested. Good Luck and Carry On.

Well, that didn't work. Four days on, and I've lost 90% of the watchers, through no fault of my own. Sort it out eBay!!

If this was a fixed price listing, be sure you have the 'Out of Stock' option enabled. Even if original quantity is only 1, and it sells, the listing won't fully End. If a buyer cancels, you just change quantity back to 1 and since the listing never Ended, you won't lose Watchers.

I wouldn't be to disgruntled. There is an extremely low possibility that any of your watchers would become buyers.
As a matter of fact, whenever I relist something, I do it with the intention of reaching fresh eyes. Not saying that any of your watchers were ever destin to become a buyers, but the likelihood of it is extremely slim. Especially [now] when it's much cheaper to watch, than it is to buy. Watchers are usually just that .....Watchers. And I have been here long enough to have learned that- And yes, I'm sure there are many of you that have had items on your watchlist and ultimately have purchased them, but that is the exception, not the rule.

There is nothing to "resolve" or to "sort out." A new listing always starts with zero watchers, whether it's a completely new listing, a relist, or "sell similar.".
As noted in another post, the only way to retain watchers when an item sells i to list in fixed price format, and activate the "Out of stock" option in your site preferences so that when the item sells out, it remains active (but hidden from other members while the quantity available is zero).
