Did you mean:

Canceling a sell.

This is the second buyer that did not read that this is local pickup only, and has to cancel the buy. I'm having problems contacting Ebay to cancel the sell. How can I make sure that I canceled it correctly?????

Re: Canceling a sell.

No need for ebay.

You can cancel the sale yourself.

Use the reason "problem with buyers address".

Just curious.

Is this for the cat dish?

Why local pick up only?

I mean it's totally up to you but this item is easily shippable.

Most people only restrict bulky/heavy/large item for local pick up only.

Re: Canceling a sell.

You don't have to contact eBay... it's automated. Find the order in Seller Hub/Orders/Awaiting shipment (or /Awaiting payment, if it's not paid for yet) and tick the blue down arrow to the left of the order. Select 'Cancel order', citing 'Problem with buyer's address'. Confirm and submit. It's easy-peasy! Good luck.

Re: Canceling a sell.

Hi @newmexicoartglass

There’s no reason to contact eBay.

Most sellers cancel using ‘Problems with buyer’s address’ as the reason for the cancellation when this happens, which can be done immediately.

Re: Canceling a sell.

Good Morning, I think I went thru the correct process to cancel the order. But I haven't heard anything from Ebay about it.

Re: Canceling a sell.

What exactly do you expect to "hear from ebay" about it?

From memory you MIGHT get an email saying "you successfully cancelled an order".

To check to see if you've done it correctly, Seller Hub/Orders/Cancellations. Use the filters. Good luck.

Re: Canceling a sell.

Good Afternoon,

Yes this was for the cat dish.

I was trying to learn/get a better handle on trying to sell local.

I'm still not quite up to speed about selling on Ebay.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can, get as comfortable as I can, before I really jump off full steam selling on Ebay.

Re: Canceling a sell.

YOu click CANCEL  and the reason BUYER REQUESTED or PROBLEM with BUYER'S ADDRESS.  Once you cancel, you see the notification and that's it.  Ebay is NOT going to contact. The buyer got the message. If they paid, they were automatically refunded.

When you relist your item, write LOCAL PICKUP ONLY in the title.  Those 3 words should be the first 3 words in your title. Write it a few times.   You can also write,  THERE IS NO WAY THAT I CAN SHIP THIE ITEM.  SORRY. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.

If someone asks you why, you say that you can't pack it because you do NOT have a box big enough or do not have enough packing materials or  the item is too heavy and you can't lift such a big box.  Do NOT deviate from your choice to make this a LOCAL PICKUP ONLY.

If a buyer is a real pain, add them to your block bidder list.

Re: Canceling a sell.

Sellers do not have to contact Ebay to cancel a sale.

Go to your Seller Hub

Go to the Orders box

Go to Awaiting Payment

Locate the transaction.

On the left will be a little a little blue arrow.  Click on it.  Select Cancel transaction. In this case you use the reason as Buyer's Request.

You won't get a defect and your account stays healthy.

Re: Canceling a sell.

This is a very common problem , it has happened to us numerous times. Local pickup may be clear to us and it may be clear to eBay but many buyers see the word "Free" as in "Free Local Pickup" and read no further. I have called eBay several times on this, it's 100% on them. They need to add a verification in checkout that requires buyer to verify "Local Pickup" ... They simply don't care. We have a very quick and simple solution, we call the buyer and verify they didn't understand local pickup , we immediately use "Buyer asked to cancel" , done , never a problem. No defect , no issue and 100% correct.
