One of the up and coming cash crops in our local farming community is the organically grown Marshmallow. Below are some pictures of mature "Mallows" (as they are affectionately called) in some local fields. The secret to successful Marshmallow growing is to provide adequate spacing between the mature Mallows. Since they are air breathers, similar to Ionantha Guatemala, and obtain their nutrients naturally through the air the more space and fresh air they have the better they produce. When a Mallow gets to be this size it will spawn smaller ones that can be collected, packaged and sold in stores.

If you're working on mallows, are you breeding the coconut-covered ones yet or is that next year? Are the less than perfect ones blended into marshmallow cream?

Where I'm from, our field crops do. Our cows find our 'Jimi's Purple Hays' magically delicious. 🤠

And are you able to cross-breed them with chocolate chips so that you have chocolate-filled marshmallows? Such a nice shortcut for s'mores, doncha know?

No way. You're a braver man than I am, pal. There is no way you're going to get me out into that field during mating season. Someone else can collect the spawned offspring.

On the plus side, it would be fun to set fire to the field, then venture into it with our biggest toasting forks at the ready. I'm not sure how one would make S'mores in this case but it would probably involve the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
