How stupid is this?
I had an offer and made a counter offer.
It's been days and I haven't heard back.
Went to change some of the text and eBay won't let me do it
what's to stop me from ending this listing and relisting it the way I want it?
If this is the way it's going to be I'll just IGNORE all offers made in the future. . .

I said ending not editing. Editing is no big deal, but listings that have offers pending that get ended by the seller tosses up a huge red flag...

It couldn't be too many days since a counter offer is only good for two days. If you are too impatient to wait it out, then I've seen that offers can be retracted under certain conditions.

So you're saying listings that have pending offers that are ended ebay WILL NOT issue you a warning for trying to take the sale off site?

Right (other right) edit, side, "with open offers from buyers", action, end.
This will end the offer not the listing.

I need to ask this question Z. How long has this offer been sitting with the potential buyer? That makes a big difference to the answer. If it's been like that for over a week, something is seriously wrong.

It's been days
But less than 48 hours.

Its been 48 hours
I had the item listed for $300
Potenual customer offered $140 in a message
I responded with: Reply with Offer ~ $150
I've lowered the price to $200 this morning (eBay allowed me to lower the price)
All I wanted to do was remove http pictures. . .Maybe I can make changes now that 48hours have passed.

Counteroffers expire in 48 hours, same as offers.

I just wanted to change the number of items available...nope

Aagghh! I just found this out too! I kept getting the same question from watchers about the item so thought I’d just go in and update the description with that information because obviously interested persons wanted that piece of information. And it wouldn’t let me. Am a wee bit more hesitant to do those and was already backing off of them anyway.
