Hi everyone, can someone please help me?
I tried listing an item today...I asked $1900 for it, but ebay won't let me list because of a selling limit.
I requested to increase my limit, but it says it can't because they have already updated my limit on the 8th of October. I don't know where they get this from as I haven't listed on eBay for months. I have sold A LOT of stuff on ebay so it's not as if I'm new. I have over 300 feedbacks.
The only thing I did different the other day was change the name of the account to MY name, because unfortunately the account was in my mom's name, and she passed away a couple of months ago. Could this have anything to do with it? That I changed the name of my account to my name?
I would so appreciate anyone's help. Thank you!
P.S. I have sold items that are very expensive before.

It's because this account hasn't sold anything in about a year. You are being treated as if you are brand new. The name change probably has something to do with it too. You have to build up a good record of satisfactory sales before eBay will increase your selling limits. Part for your own protection (can you afford to lose a $1900 item if something goes wrong) and part for eBay's protection.
Also, did you open a managed payment account? Can't sell anymore without setting that up too. Since you are perceived as new, you can't receive funds through Paypal anymore.

Hi, thank you for your reply.
I don't know what a managed payment account is? ebay told me to sign up with Payoneer, not Paypal.
Which I did and it was approved. It hasn't been a year. I last sold in January 2021.
And I sold a lot of expensive Disney items.
Thank you

You were selling on an account that technically wasn't your account.
The account being in your mother's name has everything to do with it. Your mother was the account owner not you. If you were the one doing the selling on her account eBay was not aware of that. Your mother was getting the feedback or credit for something you did and rightfully so.
You are started out with limits because as far as eBay is concerned transferring the account in a new name makes you new. And subject to new seller limits. Have you linked your Payoneer account to eBay so you can get paid?

I have just checked, the Payoneer account is linked to eBay. I have messaged eBay. Do you think they might help me and be understanding because of my situation. Actually the account was both of ours. We both sold items on there...we shared the items. I thought it was wrong to keep an account in a person's name that had passed away, that is why I changed it. I read that changing a profile name though does not affect your account. I am just so confused as this item I am selling is worth a lot of money and I really need the money. Thank you for trying to help me. I appreciate it

Okay thank you. Everyone says I can get eBay live chat but it's not showing up when I go to contact page?

You can change eBay user names no problem. The legal name the account is in can be changed if your legal name has changed, like you got married and have a new name.
Managed accounts means eBay is going to take their fees from the buyer's payment and give you the proceeds (payouts) via Payoneeer.
Because you are "new`" your payout can be held for 30 days. The funds are normally released to new sellers when tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there is no tracking. For items costing over $1,000 eBay can hold the payment for up to 30 days whether you are new or not.

But you have already emailed eBay correct?

You can contact eBay via social media with a private message:
