Did you mean:

Can/should I add this to the Global Shipping Program? Israel buyer.

I have this $600 car tester listed for local pickup only: https://www.ebay.com/itm/153074368342 Guy from Israel asks how much to ship there. Can I add it to the Global Shipping Program even if it's for local pickup only here? Should I? Thought I heard about sellers losing their items to scam buyers in some countries with the program, although this buyers seems ok.

Israel has some strict import restrictions on certain types of electronics.

This can cause the item to either be seized by GSP before sending on to Israel or to be seized by Israeli customs.

I would research this in depth before agreeing to anything.

When you say the buyer "seems OK" what does that mean?

I'd steer very very clear. Those countries have insane laws you wouldn't even imagine possible.

Over 100 transactions in just a year with no issues noted in the comments. Feedback left for others is normal with just 1 neg to a no longer a registered user.

I thought I read here that once an item is sent to the GSP shipping center, the seller is pretty much off the hook.

With GSP you are protected against INR (once it is delivered to Kentucky) and for damage done during shipment (after it leaves Kentucky).

You are not protected for customs confiscation or SNAD. And GSP can confiscate your item if they find that it is not allowed to be exported from the US or imported into the country you are shipping to. (And they may or may not return the item to you).

For SNAD claims, you will be responsible for return shipping.

OK seems better to ship USPS Priority Express with insurance if I ship it.

If you list it GSP and it goes international and your buyer opens a SNAD you can't print a return label and even if you could it would be ultra expensive so your GSP item just becomes a gift to the buyer....

False. GSP SNADs can be returned. eBay never said otherwise.

It’s not a temp workaround. Stop the usual fear mongering and misinformation.

All the seller has to do is send the funds via goods and services. If the buyer doesn’t return the item, seller files an INR. No money down the rabbit hole.

Not really fear mongering just telling the OP the facts as explained by ebay GSP specialist who hosted a chat session in May and answer he gave to posts concerning GSP SNAD....
