So, I sold a t-shirt and it was my first sale ever and I was unaware of the 3-day handling time. I ordered the shirt yesterday and it is coming on 12/7/17 but my shipping deadline is 12/5/17. I sent a message to the buyer asking him if it was okay with him if he could reply with something along the lines of "I, the buyer, am okay with delayed shipment." He replied with "There is no need. Ship it when you have it." I am confused because I read forums saying I will get a late shipment penalty? Can I use his reply to remove the penalty if I do get one? Thanks.

Will it show up on my seller page? (and will it dete people wanting to buy from me?)

At the risk of reveling in old-fartitude, as well as wandering off-topic, I am trying to fathom why anyone would want to pay that much for a mail-order T-shirt. I mean, it's not even vintage, is it? What's the desirable feature that I am missing here? Have the Chinese fake sellers caught on to this item yet?

It could cause the loss of your ability to list anything.

Read the info here to understand the Late Shipment Metric:
https://ocsnext.ebay.com/ocs/sr?query=3237
and here
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html
It takes at least 7 late instances in a year to affect your selling account. Shipping late isn't good, but isn't fatal unless it continues to happen. Ignore the Top Rated Seller stuff (you aren't that) - you just need to stay Above Standard.
In your specific case here, it should only be a ding if tracking shows it delivered AFTER the original eBay estimated delivery date OR the buyer indicates late delivery when he leaves feedback (if eBay asks).
When you upload tracking and get it scanned by USPS (or whatever shipping carrier) WITHIN your handling time, you are automatically protected against it being marked as a Late Shipment EVEN if it is delivered late.
Your buyer's feedback comment itself can't undo the late shipment, but if asked by eBay when leaving feedback he says it was on time, then it is on time (see the chart below)

No. it won't show up on your seller page...unless the buyer posts negative feedback saying late shipment~~that people will be able to see.
And that could deter people from buying from you.
You can find any defects and your standing on your Seller Dashboard or the Selling Hub.
Sorry.

Even on the first time??That equates to a 100% late shipping rate.
100% tracking not uploaded and scanned within the stated handling time.
That really is not a great start, to put it mildly.

If you didn't have it, why did you list it?
If you're trying to do some form of dropshipping, you are off to a very, very bad start.
Technically they're not dropshipping if it's being sent to them and they send it to the buyer.
But yes, pretty risky to list something you haven't even ordered yet.
