Can a seller protect himself against loosing money with false "not as described" complaints ?

I sold 3 parts of a camera system as defective.

The buyer complaint it wasn't a complete camera allthough I clearly stated and show photos of only 3 parts.

Never selling here again unless they change their terms and level the field.

Buying is fine, it makes it easy to scam sellers.

Can you protect yourself as a Seller against a SNAD?

NO.  No you cannot.

You are told to take it as a part of doing business.  Which is a total crock.

No.  No you cannot protect yourself.  You can try, but Buyer wins, Seller loses.

The direct answer to your question is no.  SNAD claims will win every time.

You can mitigate the damage some by offering 30 day free returns.   Doing so allows you to deduct up to 50% of the selling price from the refund if the item is returned in poorer condition than when sent.

No.

There is no way to completely protect yourself from fraud on eBay.

Each seller must weigh the risks of selling here.

Nope. No matter what you do 99% of the time eBay sides with buyer with replies like video and photos can be tampered with and we can not guarantee what you put in the box, what you got returned, etc.

Until the buyer gets in touch with eBay and complains about that. Then eBay will take that 50% right back from you and give it to the buyer.

It is more like 99.99995% of the time on a SNAD.

Bottom line - full and complete - 'NO'.

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

Respect, like money, is only of 'worth' when it is earned - with all due respect, it can not be ordained, legislated or coerced. Anonymous
