Due to Ebay's announcement to set a minimum 2% ad rate, I have decided (at least temporarily) to remove the promotions. I tried to bulk edit and found the feature had changed and was unable to work out how to find an option to bulk edit the ad rates. I then rang Ebay - I was told I had to end all the listings! I complained I had 600 and many of them multi-variation types and that in the past I found when relisted, they rest the stock levels to original amounts or a minimum of 1, which was confirmed by the Ebay agent - plus I did not want to lose the visible sales history displayed on the listing. I have even found variation photos have disappeared permanently in the past!
Anyway, I came here to the forum, did a few searches and whilst waiting for Ebay to call me back with an answer - discovered how to bulk edit my listings and remove the promo rate. I will keep a close eye and see if this affects my sales and if it does noticeably, will have no option but to go for the 2% promo ad rate. I think initially, yes I did see a difference but not sure now. I am sick of Ebay constantly making it more expensive for sellers, because having a shop should be enough to promote listings!! There is absolutely no value in removing the 1% option - that is like removing the 1 o'clock from the clock!! I find the multi-save promotions are worthwhile. If I felt another platform would work for me and cost less, I would leave Ebay as it is just not so worthwhile any more, although this is a lot to do with competition and cost of living increases. Everything is going up whilst I have to keep my prices low - in fact many of them are lower than they were 10 years ago!!
