This is probably a dumb question, but i was wondering if I can use a box that I have for first class shipping.

You bet! As long as it is within the First Class Mail size restrictions, you're fine.

Yes, you can.

Yes, absolutely; I use them all the time. You just need to keep the total weight below 13.0 ounces (for domestic mail) if you're buying your postage over the counter at the post office, or below 16.0 ounces if printing your postage on-line through eBay/PayPal. I use 6"x4"x4" boxes for a lot of my items, and the 6"x4" face is a perfect fit for the on-line shipping label.

Just make sure it is not a designated Priority or Express box.

Evening,
Yes Absolutely...matter of fact we tailored much of our product to go into boxes.
USPS has 3 basic 1st Class classifications: regular envelopes...thick envelopes (both of which can not have bumps in them because they will not go through the sorters) and Packages.
If you print your labels through Ebay you can use a box provided it weighs 15.9 ounces or less.
Hard to get a box and goods in them to weigh less than this over 8" x8" x 6".
In order to get around the standard box sizes I would purchase the small and medium boxes from Lowes or Home Depot for about $1.25 and then I set ups a cutting table and I would make boxes to ship even our long handled wooden utensils and still be well under the 15.9 oz.
Hope this helps.
