I don't see anything in the TRS requirements about handling time, so instead of assuming I will just ask you knowledgeable people to make sure. I don't care about TRS+ (lost that because of the free returns requirement) just TRS. I live in ND and our winters can be quite brutal, so I thought it might be good to switch from 1 day handling time to 2 day just in case of extreme weather. I will still ship within 1 business day but just want that cushion of an extra day just in case. Does anybody think it will negatively effect my sales by switching to 2 day?

2 day handling time will not affect TRS status.
If you still ship within 1 day then your delivery estimates will be based on 1 day not 2, so I don't think it would have much of an impact, if any, on your sales.

Switching to 2-day handling will definitely not affect your TRS status, and as you anticipate it could even help protect it. And will probably have no effect on your sales unless maybe you are in a very competitive category.

I always had 1-day handling to keep TRS+, but lost TRS+ because I can't give free shipping returns on heavy china purchases. So I changed all my listings to 2-day handling to give me breathing room for bad weather, illness, or buyer requests to hold shipping. Since the TRS (without the plus) requirement is that you ship within your promised handling time, I still have TRS without the stress of 1-day handling although I still try to adhere to that time frame.

I have TRS status and have always had a 3 day handling time - due more to old age than brutal winters.

TR-Plus is a listing rating not a seller rating. If there are some items that you are comfortable having 1-day handling and free returns, you can be selective, and those listings will show the TR-Plus badge and be eligible for the final value fee credit.

It's not a requirement and I don't think it will hurt your sales. I doubt the extra day will make any difference.
