Can I call out a non paying bidder?

Had a non paying bidder recently and had to cancel the order and relist.  Can I call him out in my item description to warn other sellers to beware?  I have blocked him for my future auctions but wondered if EBAY allows you to "call them out" when re-listing.

Re: Can I call out a non paying bidder?

I do not know this to be a fact. I have already filed an unpaid item dispute. Certainly each seller who encounters this should open a dipute; if only to get their eBay fees back. However, there is no way to tell how eBay deals with renegers.

There is no excuse for winning an auction and then not paying or responding. In this case the buyer does not allow phone contact. What is also frustrating is that he is currently selling an item on eBay.

Because eBay has transformed to a Buy it Now format, auctions do not get the attention they deserve.

It is no wonder that the largest response was the thread on why eBay now sucks.

No transparency. Where  are the statistics dealing with eBay's treatment of non paying bidders? You may say that eBay has a tolerance of 2 non paying items. This is obviously not the case. If the seller did not receive payment eBay should receive an explanation from the buyer.  If there is no explanation, a suspension is warrented. Cerainly allowing a  seller to sell on eBay at the same time he/she is a nonpaying, non responding buyer shows how little eBay regards the community.

Have you at anytime checked your Buyer Requirements Activity Log?

" If there is no explanation, a suspension is warrented."

A regular poster had a buyer who died before payment...so they were suspended.

I had a had a heart attack before I paid for an auction...so I was suspended.

If you run auctions ( as do I) non payers are always a risk & a minor inconvenience.

We do not need stats. The whole purpose is that we never even have to see or deal with non-payers. Never even know they were there. And it's not ebay that needs a "tolerance" of non-payers, it's the sellers who SET THEIR BLOCKS. That really helps all of us in a way. Good luck~

It may be a platform for Sellers to list using the auction format...it is not an Auction House.

Back in the earlier days of eBay, a buyer's account could be suspended by eBay after getting 3 'Non-Paying Bidder Strikes'. I don't know if that policy still exists.

That policy disappeared from the basic Help pages shortly after eBay introduced the Buyer Requirement that allows sellers to automatically block bidders based on their nonpayment strikes.

It's not eBay that has the 2-strikes threshold; it's in the sellers' optional buyer requirements.

Sellers who have left feedback haven't given the buyer a nonayment strike; they are part of the problem.

There is no excuse for an adult expecting others to follow the rules yet refusing to follow the rules themselves. Maybe the bidder thinks no payment is no big deal just like you apparently think ebay selling rules are no big deal

Re: Can I call out a non paying bidder?

NO... and a seller isn't looking at your listings ..buyer look at listings....

and seller looking is just looking, comparing, whatever....SO whatever you think you want to do is silly and VIOLATION OF POLICY....so don't do it...simple file the UPI case and they get a strick..too many and they won't be able to bid/buy from most sellers

Re: Can I call out a non paying bidder?

I have had to cancel several auctions with non paying bidder alerts. I wonder if non paying bidders really are held accountable by ebay. As sellers we'll never know.

Although my post was a year ago (thanks for bringing back a thread that should be dead and buried), I showed you what eBay does. If you have your settings correct, they won't be able to buy your items.
