I sold a bundle of items on Feb. 13th. The buyer messaged me & asked me if I would refund him because he did not want the item. I reminded him that I have a no return policy. He then opened a return request through ebay which I declined. After declining the return request through ebay he opened a claim through paypal with the reason as "I changed my mind, I don't want the item" which again, I declined.
So today I receive the item in the mail & log in to paypal to notice he opened another claim through paypal saying "Item was significantly not as described". Paypal had apparently granted the return so now I have to refund this buyer.
Is there any way I can block this buyer to prevent this from happening in the future. (although i'm sure the odd of him ordering from me again are slim)
Also does anyone know why paypal granted a return?? What is the point in sellers having a no return policy if ebay or paypal can just allow it anyway just becuase they changed their mind?!

Yes. Just use the block buyer link:

You can report the buyer for misuse of the MBG, I think. Hopefully someone will come along to confirm or deny. And you can add them to your BBL, blocked bidder list.
No returns just means you don't take buyer's remorse returns, but as you can see, a buyer can claim not as described as that overrides your no return policy.

Since it was done on Pay Pal, I'm not sure if they could report the buyer for abusing the MBG or not, but hopefully someone can let us know.

Yes, that was why I hoped someone would confirm or deny~I am not sure if you can still report the buyer for misuse of the MBG since it is now a Paypal claim.
Anyone?

Considering eBay's written policy says it's a violation for them to buy from you once blocked.... yeah you can. As long as you catch them when they do there is plenty you can do.

Last year, Blues on the Board said that they can do that, as long as they really want the item. If there are any issues from the transaction, CS should be contacted and they will protect you. A Blue has posted since then that circumvention can be reported to CS. At this point, I believe that you can still call CS if the BBL has been circumvented. So perhaps they have gone back to the original polcy. I am not sure.

Considering the conversation I was in with Triton a few days ago, he said eBay expects the seller to ship anyway.

So the original change I mentioned still applies. If the buyer really wants the item, it is ok for them to circumvent a BBL. Thanks for posting this.

You CANNOT prevent someone from buying your item. Period. You can block an ID, that's it. When they buy under another ID, you will be told to ship, or take that strike.

Understood. My take away was that you could report to CS.

something similar happened to me. I blocked him.
