Calculated shipping in cart failure

@Anonymous

Buyer contacted me to ask what the combined shipping would be on 2 items. I have a business rule in place to automatically discount the second item's shipping by 40% so I sent the combined shipping total to the buyer.

They just put the items in the cart and the shipping was not combined.  They sent an email that they were not allowed to request an invoice (items were on sale) and that they would trust me to refund the excess shipping (which I'm more than happy to do).  Item 182805110220 is one of the two items if you want to review the transaction.

We need the cart updated so that request invoice is ALWAYS available until the issues with combined shipping and and other discounts are FIXED.  It's the holiday season and not everyone is going to be willing to "trust" the seller to refund the correct amount on the shipping.

Hi @dtexley3, looking at the item number you provided, your shipping rule was not selected to apply to this listing. This is why the buyer did not get the discount you offer. If you choose to sell similar on this item, you can scroll down to the shipping section and see that the checkbox for "Apply by flat-rate shipping rule" was not selected. The rule would need to be applied to all items the buyer is purchasing to provide the desired discount. You can go in and bulk edit your listings to apply this rule to as many listings as you see fit to avoid any issues in the future.

I will make sure you get an appropriate fee credit for the partial refund. Thanks so much for working with your customer on this. If you run into any other concerns with combined shipping or requesting a total, I'll be happy to look into them for you. If there is an eBay error, I'll get it over to our tech teams, no problem!

Thanks I didn't think to check that.  I went in and reset it on all items again in case I missed it somewhere else.
