Shipping estimate times are out of control!

I just sold an item, too late for me to get pickup today so will have to mail it tomorrow.  On the order  details page and shipping label page ebay states arrival date will be the 3rd!

I have a 3 day handling time and they want it there in 2 days from the purchase date even though it is going to a 3 day priority mail zone.  Geez!!  What am I a magician???Smiley Frustrated

I have noticed this weird shipping time that eBay is putting on listings also. In one spot it states get it by XXXXXX date and then the estimated date is 2-3 days later. There are so many inconsistancies lately that it drives buyers and sellers crazy.

Did you know that you can choose the day you are taking the item to the post office when you are printing labels?

Yes I do nd according to the post office you are required to.  If I print a label today to ship tomorrow then it has to have tomorrows date on it according to the USPS.  Still, ebays estimates are so off it is not funny!

You're looking at delivery times TO your ZIP code FROM your ZIP code.
Click your See Details under shipping and plug in a new ZIP...like 90210 for LA

No I am not.  I am looking at the Order details page after I print the label and also the estimated date on the label order page.

I have already printed the label for tomorrow's shipping.  I then go to Order Detail Page (which the buyer can look at) and it states that the package will be delivered to the BUYER on the 3rd...that is one day delivery for a 3 day priority mail zone from here.

So your answer would be incorrect.

It's still grabbing your zip code when it shows you the dates.  If you open the listing and put the buyers zip in the calculator you will see the actual ETA

Okay did it your way and it still shows 1 day delivery from east coast to west.  Not possible with a 3 dday handling and going coast to coast.

I so agree with you.  What if your mail person comes at 5 PM ?  impossible.  To many restrictions.

And they are making so much money off of us.  Charging 24% for the Shipping too, a true Rip off.

Of us that is.

I have a store and still wonder why I am paying 24% of everything to e-bay.......  They are so greedy.

eBay charges a max of 10% FVF (14% if you are below standard).  The 24% number keeps being thown out there but it's not accurate.  Where do you get that number?

How does a 15-year seller still have no idea what eBay’s fee%s are?

Maybe they are one of those who compare the FVF to the amount they actually profited off the sale.....don't know why they look it at that way.....but some do.

In @dande2016 defense, I recently purchased a handbag from a seller on the West Coast (Washington State) and the estimated delivery date was within two (2) days, and I was like "yeah right, I will not see the handbag for at 5 days best," boy was I wrong 🙂  It was here on the two (2) day delivery date and I was shocked, happy, but shocked scream  IDK - I thought the dates that eBay stated was unrealistic, but I was wrong.

So @dande2016 - it just may arrive or it may not by the last estimated date.

ps: I've worked defense work for over ten (10) years, which is probably why I like to come to the defense of folks both personal and in business 😉  I've won a few Court cases on my own too, thanks to my former attorney that I worked for.  May he Rest in Peace 😞
