Hello im interested in buying an in game account from a game called Genshin Impact. I was wondering if ebay protects the buyer if the seller somehow did not deliver or send the account info or if the account is revoked. This is a pretty expensive item as accounts can cost upwards of 4000$.

First read this, which explains in detail and with reference to the Genshin TOS that buying and selling accounts is prohibited:
Then, understand that only authorized sellers are supposed to sell digital products on eBay and eBay is not going to authorize someone to sell illegal items:
So, any listings you see on eBay are in violation of eBay policy, as well as violating Genshin policy.
Take it from there and decide if you want to spend the $4000.

That is the big problem. The seller does not own, run or have the right to sell it. Most games do say that up front too. If the game company later does close the account you would lose out.

You are not interested in BUYING it. YOU are the one illegally SELLING that game. You need to remove it.
Why would ebay protect a seller or buyer from doing something illegal?

You don't own the accounts and don't have the rights to sell them.

Did you somehow think that no one would notice that you are the seller (not a potential buyer) of that account?

Hmm good point. My intentions was to sell my current account and buy a better one.

Sorry my intentions were to sell my current account and buy a new account.

What is "authorized sellers?"

I feel like Ebay should back buyers in buying In game accounts or digital items. Theres a huge market in this and it would make ebay lose revenue if they don't cater to this.

Good grief. Well, I, for one, did not check because it never occurred to me that I was being jerked around that badly by the OP. You'd think at my age I'd be wiser.

Though your post was still informative!

There is also a huge market for cocaine but that doesn’t mean eBay will allow it’s sale and offer buyers protection for its sale.

So that was the reason you saw it as good idea to act like you would be a potential buyer rather than a potential seller?
