I went back through my sales history and discovered that buyers who send buyers notes when buying are an issue 90% of the time. They always find a problem. Anyone else have this correlation? The second group of red flag buyers are those that message for a lower price. They are also never satisfied it seems. Ive begun just blocking both these types of buyers immediately

I imagine you have been spooked many times by these noteworthy folks and that is what starts the phobia. Then all of a sudden every note is a reason to take several anti anxiety meds with a can of beer. LOL!!
ALSO, you would never have the guts to sell anything online after being spooked and developing buyer note/offer phobia. It should be included in the statistical manual of ebay disorders. I must admit though, I have been spooked by buyers on here at times and downright almost scammed and some of these great posters responding to you here know me and Some of my buyer stories. I still never let it get to me to the point of complete seller mental disability to sell.

All my listing are buy it now. If they offer something close to what I ask, I might entertain that, depends on sales for that month, if i need more cash for more and better inventory acquisition, and if I do not get any bad vibes from the message and I check their feedback left for others. 90 percent of the time I just do not respond and that solves the problem. They usually do not buy and go to the next seller with the low ball etc. Sometimes they actually buy it after no response as well.

The OP is pointing out that for him, the "interest" shown is a fairly solid sign it will be a problem buyer/scammer.
There is certain ways things are phrased by buyers that can be perfectly fine interest, and phrased a different way, raise a big red flag.

Those 2 questions would fall into the Blocked Buyer category.

I think you've way overblown this. Every seller has things they consider warning flags, or something that makes you feel off, or a feeling in your gut about someone. It's generally unwise to ignore those things. He's sharing something he's noticed in his transactions, with other sellers. Its not a mental disease. It also hasn't stopped him from selling here. He may just decide not sell to specific people that he feels present these kinds of red flags to him.

Exactly. But we're full of mind readers on this thread apparently

I rented to a young male Pokemon dude once, that should be a rental application question. Good salary and by far the biggest pain ever. Got rid of him.

Thanks for understanding. It's just not worth the risk. If I block some good buyers with my methods than oh well. It cannot be helped. It's worth the price. Especially in cards where theres millions of buyers. 1 bad buyer causes more problems than 20 good ones.

People often take what others say as a personal attack of some kind when it was never intended that way, it was just a post sharing something you noticed. I mean, one never knows who is going to be looking at a post beforehand, why would they think you meant it to be some kind of attack on them? But they still take it as such.

some people operated from a single playbook and if they see something outside that playbook they assume it is wrong. because they do not know anything but that single playbook and refuse to learn anything outside of it
