Buyer wants to upgrade shipping after sale - impossible on Managed Payments?

I can see how this would be completed through paypal but I can't see anyway to do it on MP.    Annoyingly the buyer paid immediately.  Once they did that MP locks everything up.

Why doesn't  Ebay create a way to send a single invoice to someone? Its nuts we can't!

I'm going to end up losing the sale because ebay doesn't have this simple functionality.

You could cancel the sale at buyers request ask them to do that so you do not get a defect on your account then relist it with the updated shipping cost. Yes, there needs to be a way to invoice a buyer for something like that but the system is apparently not equipped to do that.

Or, invoice them for the extra shipping amount through PP. if they have an account and do not ship till they pay you. If they do not pay you then I quess you just have to ship or you get a defect.

Are you talking about an invoice for the upgraded cost shipping difference?   You can't send another invoice thru the selling history page?

No I do not think you can send any kind of additional invoice on ebay with MP. IF someone orders something and they want express shipping for like an additional 15 bucks etc, you would have to contact them and tell them they need to cancel the order, then you relist it with the upgraded shipping charge added on to the relisted item then they buy again and pay.

The best way to handle this though is to have multiple options for shipping on your listings so the buyer can choose the expedited more expensive one from the start then you have no problems.

Thanks everyone for your replies!   I have to conclude Ebay won't permit this simple basic function.

Anyone else notice how glitchy this new platform is?  I type here and everything sticks!

Yep...there are areas that seem glitchy in the process....combining items from multiple sales is another area that is messed up.....and it increases your fee load on a per-item basis which is something you have to take into account on low cost items.

I've had this request made several times. I let them know the easiest way to upgrade the shipping after the purchase has been made, is for them to provide me with the email address affiliated with their PP account. They've already made the purchase, so your free from the no contact outside of ebay. If your not comfortable with asking for that info in a message on ebay, you can always call them.

I went the route one time of cancelling the item and relisting it with the adjusted price, buyer didn't go back in for 2 days and it sold in the meantime. They were disappointed, but understood that they should have went back immediately after I let them know it had been relisted and gave them the new item ID number.
