Buyer has started a return as he said he expected the item to turn up in a branded Ray-Ban box. I didn't include a box in any pictures, it wasn't mentioned in the description and I didn't get a box when buying the item on the high street (I still have the receipt for the purchase).
His argument is that as it was listed as New with Tags he expected the item to come in a Ray-Ban box. In my opinion I accurately listed the product and delivered exactly what I had advertised. What are my chances of eBay finding in my favour or is it worth just giving a refund in this case?

buyer could have asked if it was that important...and can easily use a generic case or buy an empty case...still, if returned i would refund as this is ebay and sellers unfortunately are almost always considered wrong...

We’re talking about the cardboard box? When rayban ships their glasses to retailers, they would be packed in these boxes but when we buy from the shops we usually have to ask for it. So while it’s out of the norm, there are many reasons why the buyer would want the box
New with tags is defined as “with original packaging”. No idea what that means in the eyewear niche but that very well may refer to the cardboard box. So unless their is an official eBay definition, I think that’s where your argument technically falls short despite the pictures and description. New (Other) or something else would’ve been the better condition. But if you can find a spare box from the store I would offer to send that to the buyer before going through with a refund.
