Buyer trying to commit fraud

I sold a 550.00 tool to a buyer in Arizona,  he paid for it on the 9th of November,  I shipped with ups on the 10th of November,  2 days later he sends me a message stating he was canceling his payment through his bank because ebay took out of his personal account and not his business account,  again not my pri thought, the package is to be delivered Friday, he filed a not received dispute with Ebay and his bank, I contacted him on message and he said he would pay me later with a different account,  I said no, he proceeded with his dispute, I called ups today and they will not intercept package at all, ebay says I have seller protection as long as it shows delivered, I feel like im being shafted on both ends with buyer and with ebay, im overly stressed out and have been having chest pains, what can I do?

Did you receive the money from eBay through Managed Payments into your bank account (or is it still pending)?

It is not worth getting ill over......you need to let this play out....

I might suggest (based on this)

"...sends me a message stating he was canceling his payment through his bank ..."

Advise the buyer that if they involve their bank, the ebay Money Back Guarantee is not available....that might "settle him down" a bit....

I am not sure where this will go...it is entirely the buyers fault, but you do have recourse.....

in the interim, I will try and brainstorm possible scenarios for you, and maybe a veteran will chime in to help you out here....

He can't cancel a payment when the item is in transit already.  Just add your tracking number to the case. Once delivered the case will close in your favor. You need to settle down and relax and just like the above comment says let it play out.

@jacob2233  minimally, eBay will close the INR case since buyers are not allowed to open 2 or more cases at once.

if the bank dispute reaches eBay, just upload the tracking number showing 'delivered' and u 'should' win the cc dispute.

in case u need info on chargebacks, here is the eBay link for that info> https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/selling-policies/payment-dispute-seller-protections?id=5293

he filed a not received dispute with Ebay and his bank,

@jacob2233

If he filed an INR with eBay, then his bank, the eBay case will be closed.  eBay is  supposed to provide seller protection for INR Payment Disputes (aka chargebacks)  so long as you show "delivery" to the address provided by eBay.  They may make you wait a month, but it seems you should be covered for having to pay out.  You can look up the applicable policy with regards to Payment Disputes to have it on hand.

If they change the Payment Dispute to "not as described" then it will be a different matter.

Yes I have tracking, it shows it being on the way with delivery date of Friday the 15th, he has already filed a dispute, but it gets me, he wants more than he paid for the item, wants me to pay his bank overdraft fees which he included,  but all this mess he has caused me,has affected my health and I may sue him personally for the anguish he has put me through.

Thank you for your response, best wishes

He has absolutely no standing to make you pay for his bank overdraft fees that he incurred (emphasis mine).  The most he could do to force that would be to try and take you to court, which hopefully he's not stupid enough to try.  That's honestly laughable and you should be giggling, not stressed (though I get it).  I'd blow him off as being mentally unstable and let it all shake out however it will.

Once this mess is cleaned up in your favor, make sure to add the dirtbag buyer to your blocked buyer list.

Payment came through ebay and was deposited 2 days later, after I shipped, then he sends me a message through ebay stating his personal account was charged and not his business,  so he filed a dispute with ebay a day later stating he had not received item, I had just shipped it and it was already on a plane, but now he is telling ebay I'm responsible for paying his overdraft fees in his bank

How is it anyone but the buyers fault that the funds for the purchase came from the "wrong account". It came from the account he had it set up for. Nobody's fault but his. What a maroon.

He can tell them whatever he feels like.  He can tell them he's a nyan cat.  It doesn't matter.  Policy is clear.  If he filed a chargeback with his bank claiming not received, and you have delivery confirmation, you're all set. Since you don't have delivery confirmation just yet, but will soon, just don't respond until close to the deadline (but don't miss it!) to give you time to hopefully have it delivered before the bank decides, just in case, but you should be covered in this case.

He can't ask for more than what he paid

He incurred those fees himself for not setting up his payment choice correctly,

What a ninny of a buyer... All he had to do is transfer the money from his business account to his personal account... problem solved except for an accounting thing at tax time, which should only take a few seconds to a minute for the buyer to handle... what a ninny!

Cheers,

Duffy
