Buyer threatening negative reviews on other websites

I have a customer who has been a problem from the day the item shipped!

I won't boor you with details, but there have been multiple "problems" he had with the transaction that I've shot down one after another. Ebay has sided with me on all the issues, but now the guy is threatening to smear our name wherever he can find it.  His exact words were, "I'm going to open a BBB complaint today you will also be getting a letter from our lawyer as well in the next few days my team is also going to begin a campaign to leave reviews everywhere your company is advertised."

He did post a Google review in which he came up with a new "problem" that is a blatant lie. I replied with a note to concerned readers explaining his displeasure with eBay ruling in our favor and him not understanding our return policy that is spelled out clearly.

I have not found other reviews nor heard from the BBB or lawyers yet, but can this threat be reported to eBay since he's not threatening to leave negative FB  (he already left that, btw)?

Anything off of ebay would have to be dealt through other means.

I would not worry much about the BBB.  They have absolutely no power to do anything.

As far as his lawyer is concerned, it seems that everyone has a lawyer on retainer these days.  I doubt one would take this case or this buyer is going to want to spend $250 n hour to retain him.

If he leaves a bad reveiw elsewhere, just follow up with a very business like one.

And be sure to block him from purchasing anything else from you.

I doubt eBay will step in and stop bad reviews on other websites. But, you may just want to say you will have your lawyer talk to their lawyer about slander. This is what he is doing because he is lying.

I had an online friend get really ticked off about something I thought was childish and silly. She thought it would be good idea to go to places like Yelp, Facebook and other sites to let people know how she felt about what she considered bad service. She even did what she called "padding" the review to make a little more dramatic than it really was because she was so ticked off. But, after she got an email from a lawyer asking to speak to her on the businesses behalf she stopped what she was doing real quick. I don't know if it was a real email or not. But, it did the job. The letter just mentioned what she claimed happen was proven a lie by security cameras. Again I don't know if it was true but she shut up about it. lol
