Buyer threatening bad feedback ...

Buyer just messaged me that I overcharged him on shipping and owe him $3 and then fired 10 + messages calling me names, bringing up fair trading, etc., etc., etc... and the last one he just said "bad feedback coming your way" ... after already threatening me with bad feedback on message 3 or 4.

Buyer hasn't even received item. Item was going from GB, WI to Fort Lauderdale, FL, weighed almost 2lbs and cost $8.70. He said it shouldn't cost over $5!!! On what planet?!? Have a feeling because I did not refund him or engage, a false inad is coming.

Not even sure what to do with this?!?

What makes you think that?   LOL  😉

Perhaps you're right,   The less contact the better.

If you could see all the messages he sent! Two or three stated to expect bad feedback. He hasn't even received this item yet!

If he was a reasonable person, we wouldn't even be having this discussion. If he leaves neg I will attempt to have it removed because he threatened me or reply kindly. This is not someone who I imagine I could ever negotiate with.

Thank God I haven't had one of "those" customers in a long time.

Re: Buyer threatening bad feedback ...

There is no way I would offer to refund this cyber bully. That just encourages bad behavior. I am guessing he has done this to plenty of other people who cave into his toddleresque temper tantrums.

Re: Buyer threatening bad feedback ...

Send the buyer a screen shot of the postage calculator data where you put in the data for weight and  To and From and then take another screen shot of the prices and services for those inputs.  Tell them to put in the data and see for themselves what prices they get. Tell them to go to the USPS website or whichever carrier website and see for themselves otherwise they may never believe you.

I agree with you ... but if his specific complaint is overpayment of shipping, I would just refund the measley $1.20 and be done with it.

@cardsforauction

One of his first messages to me, he stated it couldn't possibly cost more than $5!! So I kindly explained that I do not make profit off my shipping and that USPS rates have sky-rocketed, did along the lines of what you stated above, then screen shot the photo of his label and what it cost.

I wasn't snarky or rude and then he just went off on a tangent. Absolute insanity. Calling me names, threatening to leave bad feedback, to serve me papers, to report me to IRS (which I have a great accountant by the way, who'd be amused by all of this).

He is just trying to bully me and that's NOT going to work. 😁

I think buyer should be reported for threats to leave negative FB if no partial refund given.

eBay knows that many sellers take the eBay shipping discount -- they set it up that way for sellers.

That's because it was not really the issue - offering evidence and sops to make people like this go away don't work, because they just want to bully - they want that communication, they want you to beg. Cutting them off at the knees (refuse further communication) does work because it short circuits them. You can't reason people out of a stance they never reasoned themselves into to begin with.

Re: Buyer threatening bad feedback ...

Buyers are not allow to renegotiate something on the transaction.  You need to report this buyer for this and for the nasty emails.
