So I am an honest seller who will bend over backwards for buyers however I will not be cheated. I sell a lot f cards on eBay and have shipped hundreds of cards in the last few months. A buyer took a picture of a $25 card I sent him but replaced it with another of same exact card that was damaged and took pictures of the card that glared and did not show all 4 corners. I asked him to do this and said if he did he sent me 2 pictures twice all with glare and none showing all 4 corners. I said if he did I could confirm it was my card and I would refund him in full and he could keep the card because it would be my fault. Even though the pictures he sent have glare it is fairly obvious that it is not the card I sent nor could the card have gotten damaged in that fashion by my shipping method. He refuses to take a picture of the card again and says I am accusing him of stealing when I do not know I just want to find out. He already left me negative feedback which hurts but I made mistakes in the past year and let 3 cases slip without settling so I am now a below standard seller. Next month will be an above standard seller again and want to ask eBay to step in but it will not give me that option for the return request. I do not want it to go as a closed case unresolved and have below standard seller status. I just want to have eBay look at the pictures and see the card is no the same. What do you recommend? Thank you so much in advance

If you keep selling cards you are going to keep having issues because the buyers are trash from what I read. it is by far one of the most problem infested items you can be selling. the problem is ebay sellers refuse to believe they could misrepresent a card or that a card could get damged shipping in an envelope through the mail and the other problem is that the buyers know they can take a damaged card and swap it out with the good condition card you sell. Advice I don't know how to solve the issues in an item that is so subjective on the condition and then gets put in an envelope and shipped through the mail where it could or could not be showing up damaged. all it takes is a slight bending and you'll never have a good card which makes an unhappy customer because they are paying the money for a perfect card and anything not perfect is essentially trash. Ebay isn't going to care about the pictures of the card you took because they were taken before the customer got the card and then even if human eyes were laid upon the pictures you want to show ebay how is an ebay employee going to know anything about it or the condition it was in when the buyer recieved it. they look at the scenario like buyers spending good sums of money on cards are more important than sellers because there will always be someone who can fill the sellers roll but people who spend money are way more important to everything here. so idk man seems like you'll just have to accept that selling cards comes with high risk.

The one I had was a thick SP auto and it was bent in half. I couldn't believe it could arrive that bad. But it did. I had the photo just like the OP and sent in my claim and 2 weeks later they sent me the money.
As for the fat star cards in the $4 to $6 range, I just sell them at card shows. Its not like your making big money to even chance the grief. Stress kills and I hate when I create my own stress. Life is to short to do that. Its only cardboard. Like the OP I also had a store for several years. Believe it or not the OP and me were both ripped off every week by shoplifters and never knew it most of the time. We still survived. Does card switching happen, yes. Its today's version of Brick and Morter shoplifting. All we can do is minimize. But by all means don't take it personal. Thats what Blocks are for. Burn me once shame on you but burn twice, shame on me.

If a buyer claims damage on an ESE shipment you can file with eBay to collect. Quite the falderal over something that is mostly covered for you.

Next. I have no reason to distrust you as a seller, but the oddity about this situation sis that "scammers' (good ones) tend to keep a "low profile". Tey generally do not "out" themselves with false negative feedback. It is possible that the buyer is on the up and up.

The EUS envelope for 20.00 and under comes with the insurance. Its automatically attached to everything sent that way. Only ever had to use it twice but got paid both times. It even covers your .69 shipping cost. Its a lot easier to handle the customer also. They send you the picture to forward on your claim- then you refund them telling them to keep the card and apologize for the shotty postal service - then send in claim - then 2 weeks later get your money and = no negatives or stress. No returns to ding your account either. It's all set up thru eBay.

It's not big money but selling a hundred or more $4-$6 cards a month is decent money. Good idea I usually only set up at huge conventions where booths cost $1000 so no space for cheap cards but will start doing a few small shows and see if that is a better way to move them, TY

No the corners are hard to see but small spots are missing and spots in different places plus I have been selling cards for 40 years and I know a dimple in a card. It is not caused by shipping. The creases are also very suspect because the card was securly placed against a top loader and a small crease yeah maybe but no way the card could have bent in half which it would have had to do or close to be so damaged. The card was switched and the buyer is stealing from me or if I get refunded by the USPS then he is stealing from the government. He also took pictures a second time when I requested him to and asked that the pictures show all 4 corners with no glare so I could see it and he took pictures but would not show the corners and still had glare to block out seeing differences.

what kind of feedback did the buyer have? Brand new buyer or some history?
For instance, I won't sell media items to 0 feedback buyers that join ebay the same day they buy my items....seems like every time I do, the new/sealed media item comes back unsealed as 'defective'....

or if I get refunded by the USPS
---------------------------------------
USPS does not refund for ESE claims. That's on eBay.
I really don't know much about top loaders and ESE, but I do know that envelopes that are processed by USPS machines can sometimes take a beating.
Yes, buyer could be a liar buyer.
