A buyer purchased and paid for a bowl with this title.
and this condition,
There were 9 photos, including these:
The auction ended on Sep-25-22 17:56:47 PDT
I received this message on Sep-25-22 20:04:
I replied thusly on Sep-26-22 12:32:
I did not get a response, so I reached out again at Sep-27-22 04:57:
Again, no response, so once again, in an effort to communicate, I sent this Sep-27-22 06:25 :
What would you do ?
If I send the bowl, there could be no INAD case, could there?
I'm pretty incredulous as why a seller/buyer would be so non communicative.
Also, I'm wondering why he won't request a cancellation on his end.
Please respond with opinions or scenarios that I could expect, as with ebay, not too much is cut and dried..
Thanks in advance.

you cancel the transaction at buyers request of course, no defect for you. Or would you rather ship it when she doesnt want it, then opens a snad case so you can pay return shipping?

Very simple. Cancel the order with the reason "Buyer asked to cancel"

As soon as you received the message:
You should have cancelled the order. NOTHING is going to be gained by arguing with them. If, as you say, you ship it out they will simply file a Not As Described complaint and get a full refund, along with you having to pay for the return postage.
The fact that it actually IS as described is irrelevant. Your back and forth messages, especially pointing out that they are wrong, will do nothing but irritate the buyer and possibly result in negative feedback.
Cancel the sale, using as the reason "buyer requested cancellation". You will get your FVF back and you will not get a ding.
If I send the bowl, there could be no INAD case, could there? Yes, he can and will file an INAD
I'm pretty incredulous as why a seller/buyer would be so non communicative. Because you are making an issue where none exists. There is no need on his part to argue with you. (that is what you are doing)

Buyers can request cancellations through eBay's system for 1 hour post-purchase. Beyond that they must use eBay message system to request a cancellation.
Do what everybody else suggested: cancel the order and select the reason buyer asked to cancel. Ignoring the cancel request and shipping will probably give you a negative outcome involving a return and wasted time/money.
You told the buyer to read help policy 4022, but that's the policy for reporting an issue with a seller.
Read the cancellation policy pages to learn more about the process:
Buyer page
Seller page
General policy page

The buyer did request a cancellation.
Cancel as buyer requested.

Thank you for pointing out the help policy issue, I thought there is a link there to cancel an order. I also realize a buyer can cancel an order within the 1st hour, but aren't they also able to request a cancellation prior to shipment through ebay that does not involve the seller initiating the cancellation?

Yes, this is help policy 4022,
Could they not use this to cancel?

Only for the first hour. Past the first hour their only option to request a cancellation is sending an eBay message. Read the other pages linked as they're specific to cancellations, not reporting an issue with a seller.
All you have to do is select buyer asked to cancel. It counts as buyer initiated even though you're putting it through as a seller.

I guess I just expected common courtesy from the buyer, but I suppose I shouldn't have when they did not look at the photos, did not read the condition, did not read the description, or flat out lied. And yes, I pointed this out to them because it's so frustrating to me. BUT, I suppose I made it more frustrating to myself by letting it bother me. I will be cancelling the order, as I should have in the beginning. Thank you and everyone else for your experienced opinions, I appreciate it.

And then relist.
It's business, not personal.
Thank you. I think I was taking it personally.

Just Cancel the transaction and the reason is "Buyer's Request". Then you can re-list it.

This is sensible.
I've had sales come in 15 minutes before I head out for the PO and have the sale in the mailstream in less than half an hour.
That's unusual for me, but there are some super-organized sellers who get the day's sales shipped in less than five or six hours.
The buyer cannot count on having more than that hour even though it may be unusual to be that speedy.

That is one cool bowl. Reminds me of my Grandma, she had dishes like that. Your pics put a smile on my face. Someone will want it.
