I sold a sweatshirt a few days ago. The item was placed into a clear poly bag and shipped in another regular poly mailer. Today the buyer messaged me and said that she received an empty package and sent 3 photos of both the clear bag and the poly mailer empty with the poly mailer torn on the back. I've been reselling for 10 years and never had this happen before. How do I handle this one?

Give tracking and let eBay handle it, don't refund. Also look thru their feedback and see what buyers and sellers are saying as sometimes they rat themselves out just by what they say or a seller might say they refunded and you can let eBay know they've had other similar situations. Then ebay will check their messages and see if they are scamming sellers more than once

Ebay closed the case in my favor since the tracking information confirmed delivery.
That is because she opened an INR dispute rather than a SNAD. However, she can still open a SNAD if 30 days haven't passed or 180 days if she paid with PayPal.

Yup, and I am sure she will.

We also need to tell the Post Office to get on the stick, then, because I've gotten packages that looked like they went through a shredder and missing contents just dropped off on the porch with no stickers and no notations in tracking way more than once.

Yep, happened to my mother just a few weeks ago. She'd ordered some cosmetics online and received an empty padded mailer with a great big rip down one side and no stickers on it whatsoever.

Kudo's to those who were correct with their advice!

FYI to all that mentioned that USPS puts a sticker on torn, damaged or empty packages. Not all the time. I recently received a package with the flap open, contents missing. No sticker, nothing. I know my carrier well, he was surprised too, he handed it to me personally.
^^^^^^ Agree, not all the time. Got this delivered without any USPS damage notations on the package, or entered on the scanner at time of delivery.
When I stopped at the Post Office to ask about it................. "we don't have any stickers now" "we will have to order some". Apparently they also did not have a pen, an official USPS dated stamper, nor any concern about the package being delivered in that condition.
