Buyer raised a Case...

Hi,

Buyer raised a case against me for non-delivery - but I confirmed to her I delivered it myself to the address on the Paypal receipt. 3 days later, she has not responded yet to my request for confirmation of the address. What is likely to happen?

If you can't prove delivery with online tracking you will lose the case.

Which site did the buyer open the case on - eBay, or PayPal?  Do you have online vieweable tracking that conforms to that site's requirements?  Did you communicate that tracking to that site at the proper time and in the proper way?

If you have the right tracking and reported it to the right palce in the right way, you are likely to win the case. If not, you are likely to lose the case.

Re: Buyer raised a Case...

Why did you deliver it personally? Was it a local Pick up item? Did you charge shipping?

If that means you hand delivered it to the buyer, you should be able to ask them in person why they filed a complaint.  Or do you mean something else?

OK kids, time to get the Dodge loaded up again. I hear 'Poppy's By the Tree' calling. This trip might be a long one too.

Re: Buyer raised a Case...

Case was on Ebay...

After I told her the dog was running round the hall, and looked to me like it pulled the package from the letterbox she said 'oh that's what the mess was...'

The blummin dog ripped the thing to shreds and the kids top in the package and probably ate most if it. She says they keep the dog locked up until postie has been.

Re: Buyer raised a Case...

I am sorry but your buyer took advantage of your good nature - as stated, without online tracking, you will lose your item and the money.  Did the buyer ask you to deliver to her home?  If he/she did, and you have the message in eBay, there is a slight possibility that you might win, very slight, or almost impossible because you would need a tracking number to prove delivery.

In order to get protection from an Iten Not Recieved dispute on eBay, you must have online viewable delivery confirmation from a delivery service that the USPS recognizes - USPS, Fedex, UPS, etc.

So ... do you have online viewable delivery confirmation from a delivery service that the USPS recognizes?

Re: Buyer raised a Case...

Agree with everyone else.  I would not personally, hand deliver anything, anywhere.  I have heard of people evening having people sign for things that were personally delivered, and eBay finding in the buyer's favor if a case is opened.  No online tracking, never happened according to eBay.

First, the OP is in the UK.  USPS is probably not involved.

Second, whether USPS recognizes FedEx or UPS or any other delivery service has nothing to do with eBay or PayPal protection.

The requirement is that eBay (or PayPal, if that is where the file is claimed) recognize the online viewable tracking.
