A buyer bought an idea and within minutes started a return for that item before I even printed a label. So I have the item still and contacted them to explain they don't need a return, but that I can cancel the transaction, and I do not want to do that until they cancel the return. ( thinking after I refund, maybe ebay will take out the money also) No response from the buyer yet. The payout is being held. Is there a good way to avoid any problems at this point?

I would contact eBay via social media with a private message:
AND-OR
Ebay customer service is superior on those sites.
AND-OR
click on the 'help & contact’ button located at the top and bottom of ebay pages to chat or receive a call back.
depending on how busy they are will depend on length of time for your call back.

Would it be too much to ask that eBay incorporate some kind of logic function that prevents a return or INAD for an item that hasn't been received?
MAYBE?
