Hi, all!
Right, what had happened was the buyer had won a mobile phone from me. Paid with Paypal and I shipped him the next day with GLS. I packed the phone very carefully and well into a box using a lot of duct tape.
The buyer received the item and opened a case "wrong item sent".
He claims that he received flour instead of the phone, and he claims that he filmed it and took photos of it. In addition, he claims that he notified the local police too. I think it is a big fraud from him.
I don't see any chance anybody from GLS opened the box, not least because it was wrapped around with so many tapes!
What can I do to prove my truth?
Thanks in advance

Oh dear, I'm afraid you're out of luck here. I'm so sorry but you've been scammed by this buyer. This platform offers a MBG to all buyers and once your buyer opened the wrong item sent case it will close to their benefit. This is why it is a scam. It becomes a he said/he said and eBay will side with the buyer on this. You did nothing wrong here, this isn't personal against you. Unfortunately tech items and mobile phones are high scam items and a magnet for them. Plus you seem to not have much FB built up and they tend to target newer sellers. No one opened the box and replaced the phone with flour, it's a ruse. These people are grifters and very good at what they do. Again I'm so sorry this happened to you. Just keep telling yourself that you did nothing wrong here. The cards weren't in your favor. Best of luck to you....

Hi friend. Next time, how could I avoid this? Is there any solution or method to prove my truth? (Taking photos of the package, or something like that?)

So it means anybody buys a phone through ebay and opens a case with this reason will win it and get a refund?
~getting a new phone for free
It's ridiculous... 😞

Yes, anyone can. That's why i would never sell a phone or other expensive item on ebay. The rule of thumb here is "never sell anything you can't afford to lose".
What is GLS?

GLS is a reputable shipping carrier

Unfortunately, there has been the sentiment on ebay forums for quite sometime now that 'if you can't afford to lose it, and pay to do it, don't list it'. There are many ways to get free or discounted items on ebay. If you sell a 'must have' item, watch your back.

About the only thing you can do is report the phone stolen if you happened to record the IMEI number somewhere. While it will not get your phone or your money back it will pretty much make the phone useless to the buyer. Info on the IMEI blacklist and filing a report can be done at the following.

There is almost nothing that a seller can do in this situation when a buyer falsely claims they received the wrong item. The scam buyer is trying to make you appear to be a scam seller. The only thing you can do as an eBay seller with eBay is report the "buyer" and then add them to your BBL.
dbfolks166mt gave some great advice, report the phone as stolen (because it has been stolen) if you have the IMEI number for the phone. I have to admit I never knew about IMEI numbers on cell phones but if I sold cell phones this is information I would definitely write down and keep in case a buyer claims they did not receive the phone.
Also, file a complaint with IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center). Information on their website indicates "You may file a complaint with the IC3 if you believe you have been the victim of an Internet crime or if you want to file on behalf of another person you believe has been such a victim."

Thank you for all.
I checked imei and the buyer logged into his account, which means he is a scammer...
First I write him a message where I mention him to report the phone as stolen... Maybe he will cancel the case

100% Agree and I have been saying this all year now that ebay is the place for scammers and theives. I would never sell a high priced item here. I would rather go to a pawn shop. At least I would get some money.
