Buyer open item not received case, packaged delayed due to usps being short staffed

Some of my packages are being delayed due to my local regional center being short staffed due to covid-19, I live in the Detroit area, so its been kind of bad since march.  One of my buyers opened an item not received case after item was basically floating around in my state for 10 days.  Tracking shows it departed a regional center today and I believe it is on now on its way to buyer.  Its says I have until July 31st for this case to be resolved, I just want to know if there's any ebay rep I can contact to help extend this deadline.  I can't get anyone on the phone, they direct me to the seller help page on ebay, but I can't really find anything there to help with this. The package is not lost, it has just been delayed.

Never call eBay until you have to.

 

Load the tracking number into your case and keep an eye on the calendar. Maybe your buyer will have it by 7/31.

is this against the rules to post merch that's a pre orders and can take over 9 weeks to be shipped i see soo many vendors doing this with music merch.

I hope it arrives by July 31. 

 

I mailed a package on the 13th that was delivered today, the 27th.  In this case, it sat at the Jersey City sorting facility for eight days, then took a while once it got moving again.  I have also noticed that Michigan is slow.  Have you communicated with the buyer?

I recently used "complete a help request form" on the usps.com page. You can find it under "help" "find missing mail" (not the same as missing mail search)

I had success with this for a package going to san francisco. Their PO actually called me and hen was able to send the package on. I have a pending request now from Greensboro, NC where I have a package that has gone back and forth to Greensboro about 4 different times now. I am hoping they will be able to resolve this one. It's worth a try.

I guess I should start to worry about my Priority 2 Day mail that I paid for because I offered free shipping with insurance. Wouldn't be too bad except I have no Idea what the next facility is.

Are you saying the OP has some listings for pre-order items of 9+ weeks?  What type of items?

 

You are correct that would be against the Ebay rules, it is also against the Consumer protection laws as well.

It's done with books all the time...people pre-order before the publication date.  Nothing wrong with it at all.

You may want to review this as what I previously stated is true.  It is a federal law and it is an Ebay rule.

Yes I have been in contact with the seller, told her what was happening in my region with the usps and I provided tracking again.  I sell shoes, I have 1 day handling time, sometimes I do it same day though, I send everything priority. These shoes were sent using priority Mail. And I know I can file an insurance claim after 15 days, but I fear these shoes will get delivered on the same day as the deadline and the buyer will get refunded and the shoes, and I get zilch. My regional center is messed up. These shoes have been bouncing around Michigan for 10 days. All I want to know is how to get into contact with a real eBay customer service rep since their helpline is down to help extend this deadline for a few days.

I just got a message that eBay is reviewing a case with one of my sales.  It's been over 3 weeks & hasn't been delivered.  It is a $750 US sale!  There is tracking.  They better decide in my favor!  It's on the way.  I'm VERY ANNOYED!   What happens when it's received if, after, they steal from me to refund the buyer??!  Good luck to us all!!!

Did you get Signature Conformation? It's required on sales over $750 to prove delivery...you need more than standard tracking.

I've shipped item from US to Canada and it took a week at most.

But yeah if it doesn't show delivered soon they will get their $750 back.

I recently had a package shipped 6/25/20 that finally arrived yesterday, 7/28/20.  It was stuck in transit.  When the buyer filed a not received claim, I contacted them and responded to the case with the tracking number.  When there was no movement in the item in the postal system after a few days,  I just refunded the buyer rather than have them escalate the case and get a defect.

 

This is the fourth time this has happened in the last few months and I refunded all four buyers.

 

I have to say that the buyer of this item was the ONLY one to contact me and tell me they got the package and offered to pay.  The other three were never heard from again, and USPS never notified me if the packages arrived even though I had gone to their website and asked for updates.  I have no way of knowing if they ever got the packages.

 

Sorry to say this is all part of doing business.
