One of my customers specified that he would pick up the 5 items that he purchased. He provided me the pick-up code for another item that he purchased from me, which didn't work for his order of 5 items. I asked eBay support several times to provide him a pick-up number for his order but the buyer hasn't received one yet. He has received all 5 of the items that he ordered.
I welcome suggestions of what to do to get the items listed as delivered so that I can receive payment.

Why would a "pickup code" for a lot of five items necessarily work for a different lot of one item?
The five items have been paid for and picked up.
Was there a reason why the other item was not picked up and paid for (in cash if necessary) at the same time?

The customer only provided me with one pick-up code and it was for a different item. According to the customer and eBay customer service, eBay hasn't provided another pick-up code so I am unable to report that the items have been picked up.
I welcome suggestions for how to report the items as picked up.

If the other items your buyer purchased didn't have local pickup in the listings for your buyer to select, then your buyer wouldn't receive QR codes for those because they are supposed to shipped.
Or your buyer didn't select local pickup for all items.

The customer selected local pickup for all 5 items. I was considering sending a box to the customer and providing the tracking number for the order but eBay doesn't allow me to provide a tracking number because the customer indicated that he wanted to pick up the items.

I'm still missing something.
Are you storing your products somewhere other than your own premises?
What pickup code is necessary if he is standing in front of you?
Do you mean the QR code that is proof of payment?
I believe it is also possible to take cash payment, but it is not advised since the Buyer is left with no proof of payment.

The customer paid through eBay and said he would pick up the items. I happened to be going near where he lives so I dropped off his items at his house. Though he placed 2 orders, he only found and provided me with one pick-up code. eBay accepted his pick-up code for one of his 2 orders, but not the other one. He informed eBay that he has received his 2 orders but eBay is still informing me that I need to provide the customer with items that he ordered.

I am a bit confused and seeking clarification. When I was selling a number of years ago on Ebay, local pick-ups were paid in advance on this platform. Once local pick -up had occurred, the order was marked as delivered manually on the seller's dashboard. My only additional proof of delivery that I would gather for extra protection was a copy of the invoice, a subsection describing that the order was picked up in full & in proper condition signed by the buyer. Never had a problem.
Now fast-forward to now and I see this thread. Talk of "pick-up codes" that I am unaware of. Can anyone direct me to what the new revised protocols for local pick-up now are? I don't own a smart phone so I cannot scan, send or receive a QR code. Is this a deal breaker? In short what am I missing? The last time I did local pick-ups on Ebay was 10 or 15 years ago. When I was setting up my listings and selecting local pick-up for heavy items I saw no such info.
Thanks for the feedback & my apologies if I am taking the thread off course.

When the buyer selects local pickup, they are given a code.
The buyer can use that code or use the generated QR code from the App.
People use the code typically when they don't have a smart phone.
The seller enters the code into the order and it is confirmation that the item was picked up.
"
Proof of pickup is required to protect you against item not received cases.
For proof of pickup you can:
If the buyer doesn't provide me the either the code or QR code (verify before handing over that it's successful in the eBay system, I do NOT give the item over.
This is only really required for electronic payment methods where they pay on eBay.

I see, but again you reference this "code" being entered via the Ebay app. If one does not have access to a smartphone, they are not downloading an app and they cannot sell local pick-up?
So you don't need a smartphone to receive the 6 digit code but you need the smartphone to have possession of the app to enter the 6 digit code or are we able to enter this code somewhere on the seller dashboard on the laptop computer? Thanks.

Also, if I don't have a smartphone how in the world do you verify in real time that the code was valid and accepted? If I have to run home and enter the code manually on my computer, the deed is already done if there are any issues. No?

Things have changed from 10-15 years ago. If someone picks up an item they are required to provide a pick up code so the seller can scan or manually type it in so Ebay knows the item or items were picked up. This new rule has been in place for some time now.

You can enter the code on the website via computer.
I'm pretty sure what I striked out was accurate, however, I will have to test, I swear I've done it before without the App, but the help files don't seem to indicate that you can.
They will have the code in their email, this code is ONLY given to the buyer. and eBay tells them to ONLY give it when they are getting the item.
Seller can't pretend they gave the item this way, eBay protects from INR chargebacks with this code.
If you don't want to use the app, ask the buyer to sign a copy of the eBay order form at the time of pickup.
However, I'm not sure you will get the same INR protections without the app.

Yes, I understand this now. The question is can I still do local pick-up without access to a smart phone, QR code or Ebay App all of which require possession of a smart phone?

Yes you can as long you you as the buyer have the code available for the seller to type in or you as the seller have access to your computer so that you can type the code that the buyer gives you manually so it's tracked as picked up.
