Buyer messaged me email address without asking. Fees triggered?

I just made a deal with a buyer for two separate listings I had. The buyer wanted items removed from each of the listings but combined for a discount. I created a separate listing with the new items and price, but the buyer sent me his email address completely unsolicited so that I could send him the link to the new listing. Will I be charged fees for this due to the enforcement of their messaging policies?

Respond to the buyer through eBay messages and tell them you must keep all communication and transactions on eBay- then post a link to the new listing.

Not beyond the normal FVFs.  Under certain circumstances, you might have been charged FVFs anyway if there was reason to believe you sold the items off eBay, but that is not the case here.

If you get a warning message about contact info, please know that the buyer gets one, too.  Communication needs to be kept on eBay.  The first time it is a warning but subsequent situations can lead to sanctions.

If you get a warning, you can call CS and ask them to read the communication and see that the buyer contacting you bought the items on ebay, you were just customizing the listing for the buyer.  They can note that on your account, and you can get a conversation reference number to keep in case you need to call and remind them of this instance.

Do as Coffee suggested.  Be safe, not sorry.  Encourage them to purchase the listing you set up for them to purchase from and let them know that ALL communication needs to be done through Ebay.  This will protect you and the health of your selling account.  You do not want to get an infraction for selling off Ebay.  It isn't worth it.

Do not respond to the email they sent to your private email account.  You really need to keep all communication withing Ebay.  Don't risk your selling privileges for one sale.

Do what the others said. Once you get paid ,make sure that the funds are in your paypal account.  Anyone can send you a fake letter that looks like they paid.  That is why you are NOT supposed to give your paypal address to a buyer.  They must pay through the link.

Follow coffee's advice - I've made similar listings for buyers and am able to send them the new listing number - but only do so within Ebay messages. As long as they purchase the item through the new listing - you won't have a problem.

You can check my sale before the last one. I made a special listing for a buyer. Then, via Ebay messages I sent him the link. That's all you can do.
