Hello, looks like it's catch22 case. My Ebay listings have option 'Seller doesn't offer return'. In addition I always urge sellers ask me questions/ additional measurements before bidding. I sold jeans true to size. Buyer wanted to return with the reason 'doesn't fit'. Due Ebay policy I'm not obligated to accept returns. So I refused. How come he was able to leave negative feedback??? And Ebay refused to remove it. Doesn't make any sense. What's the point to have that option 'No returns'??? Any suggestions?

True to size is not stating the actual measurements, such as inseam, length and waist. True to whose size? I have tried on many things in the past and found that my size is not the same, depending on the brand.
As a seller, you may want to accept the return and after you receive them refund your buyer.
I looked at other jeans that you have in size 27. There is no further measurements stated. Maybe updating your listings would help this problem from arising in the future.
I hope that you work this out without it escalating into ugly.
The very best to you and your future sales,
Grandma

I believe if you deny a return, and the buyer opens a case and loses, negative feedback may be automatically removed. I know this happens in some types of cases, but I don't know if it includes all cases.
Otherwise, ebay views feedback as a report of the buyer's experience with a seller and unless the feedback breaks any of the fb rules, ebay will not remove it.

No returns does not mean NO REFUNDS.
If the buyer wants his money back you can (whatever your policy) refund without a return or demand a return and refund on arrival.
The basis for retail since the 19th Century has been "Satisfaction Guaranteed or Your Money Refunded".
Including large operators like WalMart and the mom'n'pop convenience store on the corner.
If you say No Returns, eBay will interpret it as "I never want to see this again" and allow the buyer to dispose of it as she wishes.
But you refund.
It's not personal, it's retail.
The only question here is who pays for the return before the refund is issued.

You're right it's a catch 22 case. Hopefully you can get the negative feedback removed since eBay's policy does allow sellers to refuse to accept returns if the buyer indicates an item does not fit. It is inconsistent for eBay to allow buyers to leave a seller negative feedback for that reason.
I accept returns from buyers when they tell me an item of clothing does not fit them even though I usually put measurements in my listings. My listings state that buyers pay return shipping, Allowing buyers to return items that do not fit build goodwill and as a seller I can always relist the item for sale.
Your buyer is honest and said the jeans did not fit. A dishonest buyer would have claimed the jeans were not as described and would have gotten a refund of their money including any shipping charges they paid. It just looks like honest buyers are penalized for being honest while dishonest buyers are rewarded.

What's the point to have that option 'No returns'???
It's the absolute worst thing that unsuspecting sellers have access to. It was only a matter of time...

If I bought a pair of jeans and they did not fit and you made me keep them then I would give a negative also. If you bought a pair of jeans on line and they did not fit you would just keep them in a closet and never wear them ? Sorry but it is the price you pay to sell on line.

Have you read eBay's Money Back Guarantee for buyers?
Your "no returns" stance means nothing if/when a buyer opens an item not as described case.

We are not Walmart. You come to eBay to find what you want for a cheaper price right? If the seller list the sizes and does not accept returns that is not my fault that you ordered something that you clearly wanted then changed your mind later. We don’t offer “90 day returns” like big box stores

It IS kind of dumb for Ebay to offer sellers a "No Return" option on listings, when that really doesn't exist any more. All a buyer has to do is open a "INAD" and the seller HAS to not only accept, but provide a return shipping label at their expense.
If you DO accept returns, at least you can have the option of the buyer to pay for their own label.
I would have just had them return the seeds, or just send some more out...

eBay is like every other online selling site now. Anyone can return for a refund, it doesn't matter that the seller has no returns in their listings. Amazon started it all with their liberal return policies. You can put no returns, but eBay will not stand by you should a buyer go to eBay for help. I don't know what they call it here, on Etsy a buyer simply opens a case and Etsy gives them their money back out of the seller's account. So if someone wants to return something, every Etsy seller knows now that even if they state no returns, they should accept it, then refund when they get the item back, because if the buyer opens a case, the seller loses their money and the item. I have recently started selling vintage on here, but I've been on Etsy for a while, and I just figure that's the way it is. And I agree about putting more measurements on your clothing items. I know what a pain that is, which is why I don't sell clothes, but it's something that will help you a lot in the long run.
