Buyer left early feedback, couldn't mark as dispatched, funds now stuck on hold

I'm still a relatively new seller (I've sold on eBay before but several years ago on a different account), and on my most recent sale the buyer left positive feedback before I'd posted the items, as I'd helped them out with a refund for combined postage - for some reason this has caused two problems:

 

first, the option to mark the items as dispatched (I posted them the next day) wasn't available - the option later randomly reappeared a couple of days after, I think when looking at my seller hub on the app, but by then there was already an alert in red text saying 'your item is overdue for dispatch'.. so now as far as eBay is concerned I've shipped the item late

 

second, on all my other sales on this account the funds on hold have been released as soon as the buyers have left positive feedback (I assume that currently eBay is using positive feedback as confirmation of delivery on non-tracked items?), but as this buyer left feedback before I was able to mark the item as dispatched, it's created some sort of disconnect and there's now no way for either me or the buyer, that I can tell, to confirm the item has been received, and so my funds for this sale are currently showing as available on the 15th September, four and a half weeks after the item was purchased!

 

Is there any way of rectifying this, or is it just an oversight on eBay's part?

 

I'd also appreciate if someone could confirm to me what the current criteria are for not having to deal with this funds-on-hold stuff any more - is it a period of time as a seller, a certain number of sales etc.?

...if your selling on a brand new account, fund will be held (I think 21 days) a while before it could be released...also there is Manage Payment to process payment, not PayPal anymore...

 

...how could a buyer left a feedback that early...as a buyer, eBay always reminded me that I can't leave any feedback until the 7th day after the purchase's date...

My only comment:  eBay does not use positive feedback as confirmation of delivery on non-tracked items.

That would never work anyway -- have you read all the complaints here about buyers (and sellers) who don't leave feedback?

The usual reason for funds being held is that the seller is a new seller.

When you make a new account you're treated as someone new to selling. New sellers have payments held until Tracking uploaded on eBay shows delivered, or for 21 days if there's no tracking number. This hold lasts until you've sold 25 items valued at $250 and it's been 90 days since your first sale.  If you sell something over $1,000 the hold is for the full 21 days. In sone cases eBay can hold the payment longer than 21 days.

I understand your logic, however if you had properly read my post you would see that on all my sales to date the pending funds have changed status from 'pending' to 'released' and in my account literally the same day (or next working day) as the buyer left positive feedback - so there is clearly a relationship between this feedback being left and the funds being paid to me

 

Also your answer is no way helpful in relation to my query, you are just being a know-it-all

What makes you think the glitch involved the "mark as shipped option" had anything to do with the buyer's feedback?

I didn't think I suggested the 'mark as shipped' and the feedback were related?

I was just suggesting there might be a link between either the 'late' shipping or the early feedback and the funds for this particular sale being put on hold for a month, when with all my other sales I received the funds within days - even the very first sale I made on this account, the funds cleared in my account within 24hrs of the buyer leaving me feedback

Now that is good to know, I created a secondary account a while ago and while no longer subject to holds, I was curious about the criteria they use to decide when to stop doing them. Wasn't an issue for me, but it had been a long while between my old accounts and this new one so I had no idea how that worked.
