Was a 249.99 item and really have no way to respond to buyer. He claims “he knew I was a scammer.” But spent 249.99 on a item from me.

If he files an INR claim enter the tracking # and you'll be covered.
Just hope he doesn't go the chargeback route.

Yes tracking shows it was delivered and was updated to the item right after I mailed it.

He opened the request already and they won’t let me update tracking cause eBay said it was delivered. Crazy they even let him open the request.

If a chargeback is opened because an item was not received or transaction was not recognized, eBay would cover the seller if there was online tracking showing delivery.

As I understand it, ebay ONLY covers for chargebacks if a case was won by the seller on ebay for the same reason.
The seller isn't covered if the buyer just goes straight to a chargeback.

I'm sorry but you are understanding the policy incorrectly. The seller is covered.
If valid tracking has been uploaded to the item and shows 'Delivered', the seller would be covered by eBay's seller's protection.
- The transaction was for physical goods and there is evidence of a successful delivery or pickup
- The seller issued a full refund to the buyer through eBay
- The seller issued a refund to the buyer through eBay, but deducted an amount from the refund because the item was returned used or damaged (in accordance with our guidelines)
- The payment dispute relates to an eBay Money Back Guarantee case that was already resolved with:
- eBay determining that the seller met their obligations to the buyer, or
- eBay issuing a full refund to the buyer
When a buyer opens a payment dispute because they didn't receive the item or they don't recognize the transaction
When a buyer opens a payment dispute because they didn't receive the item or they don't recognize the transaction, sellers will be asked to provide:
- Evidence of successful delivery to the address provided by the buyer at checkout, or
- Proof that the buyer collected the item
If eBay determines that the item was successfully delivered or picked up:
- We will not seek reimbursement from the seller for the disputed amount, even if the payment institution decides that the buyer is owed a refund; and
- We will waive or refund the seller's dispute fee

I think it's a good idea to respond helpfully (even to a rude buyer). You can express concern and reiterate that tracking shows the item was delivered to the buyer's address on xx/xx/xxxx. Suggest they check with others in their household in case someone picked up package and forgot to mention the delivery. Suggest they ask nearby neighbors whether they might have received the package. Misdeliveries happen. Most importantly, suggest taking the tracking number to the post office and asking for more detailed information. The post office may be able to track the actual delivery using GPS.
Customer service and a little TLC can help in situations like this.

The seller is covered for item not received based on tracking showing delivered.
Under another scenario the seller may ALSO be covered if the seller previously won a MBG case.
You don't have to have BOTH.

In 3 days (approximately), the case will close automatically and your funds will be released.

I've always entered the tracking number in these cases but today I got one and it won't let me enter tracking because it was already delivered. I sent a message saying it was delivered so I wouldn't lose for not responding. I don't know if that's necessary.
