Buyer given a second chance to return after failing to return

Have a buyer that bought a box of 20 3m 8210 plus n95 face masks on march 5, was delivered march 9. WI to VA.  Buyer Requested a return on my dime on april 7, Immediately accepted.  Ebay gave until may 7 to return.  I was already expecting to receive used face masks or something else in the box, given they had them for a month and in a place with high numbers.  They failed to return, now on may 21 i get a request from ebay stating buyer returned item refund by may 29.   I opened a case and ebay is giving buyer a second chance to return and will automatically be refunded.   I can only imagine what im going to get back....

Has the buyer used the label ... is tracking updating at all on the Return?

If there is tracking, the item is on it's way back to you.

If there is no indication that the buyer used the label (no tracking number or updates at all), then contact eBay ... tell them that there is NO indication that the buyer returned the item.

Re: Buyer given a second chance to return after failing to return

The notification that you received is likely a somewhat deceptively worded one they send out if the return shows no activity. If it's the message that claims the buyer indicated that they posted the item (a falsehood), but there is no tracking then you'll likely see a little disclaimer at the bottom of the message saying something like its possible the buyer is not returning the item and instructing you (seller) to reach out to the buyer. Total nonsense. Just sit tight the return will close without you needing to issue a refund. The only return that you are obligated to refund is one showing an online delivered scan in the dispute details. Nothing else. Anything other than that is just a bullying tactic.

eBay is giving buyers extra time to return items because of the pandemic.  I wish you good luck on what you are going to get back.

Re: Buyer given a second chance to return after failing to return

I just had a return that was opened March 31st closed by eBay today May 21st. The buyer had purchased the item long before eBay changed the terms of the return timeline due to Coronavirus. They retroactively changed the timeline on my listing. The buyer was even supplied access to a return label. EBay didn’t even follow their own Covid guidelines. And the return never timed out I had to contact them to get it closed.
