Buyer gave me negative feedback for an item I did not sell.

A buyer recently gave me a negative review for an item I did not sell to them. They bought an action figure that was sealed in its original case. I shipped it in a box. They claim I sent them damaged hobby cards that were in a bubble mailer. I tried reaching out to them and they said their cards were damaged. I explained that there must be a mistake because I've never sold cards to anyone. They then responded that the action figure I sent was in perfect condition. No response after that. On my Ebay app on my phone I tried to get Ebay to remove the feedback but Ebay says its ineligible. I've now gotten to a desktop computer and used the feed back revision request feature. I am waiting for an outcome. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would reach out to ebay for business on facebook or twitter and ask to have it removed. It's very odd that they will not remove feedback left for an item that you didn't sell.

Your predicament is further proof that ebay doesn't care about its sellers at all. How in the world would ebay find feedback for a transaction that never happened to be acceptable?

 

Right in the feedback there's a link to the item you sold, its quite obvious you did not sell any trading cards as your buyer claims.

 

The feedback is absolutely defamation, you have the legal right to sue ebay for refusing to remove it, along with the buyer as well.

My advice would be to sit tight. You've acted appropriately and hopefully the buyer will correct the error. Good luck.

agree with reach out to eBay on Facebook.  they have been very helpful to me in the past.

Ebay is losing billions of dollars because they are scaring thier sellers away. They are pissing off buyers at the same time. I recently recieved 2 false negative feedbacks in a row which ebay will not remove and I have tried everything. Trust me they are false. I had another false feedback for a old vintage clock with broken hands in rough conditions with pictures showing clearly selling as-is and they buyer actually had the nerve to leave negative feedback for someting that did not work on the clock. OMG EBAY WAKE UP! I really like ebay and want to stay with them. Please fix this broken feedback situation where sellers are getting slammed with negative feedback which hurts thier sales and livelyhood. This should not be allowed
