Hello, A buyer purchased one of my products without checking the vehicle fitment and returned saying it doesn't fit.
He sent his return via USPS and it may have been lost in transit. It has been 1 week at the same location.
He filed a dispute when I told him I hadn't received it despite tracking showing the location.
Ebay responded saying the product was on the way to the customer. Which I think would be my burden.
Not that the return was on the way to me. Which should be their burden.
The dispute has been suspended. Will I get any input into this? Or will they just close it since it was last marked as my shipping?

The buyer only gets a refund when it's delivered when it's a buyer provided label.
The buyer is responsible for purchasing insurance. The seller can't do this because they didn't buy the label.
If it's a seller provided the label. The only thing a buyer needs is a drop off scan, or any scan TBH to show proof carrier got it. Once the buyer can prove hand off, if the package disappears, seller on the hook.

The auto parts industry is tough , we use aces and pies for fitment data and even still we sometimes get wrong fitments and returns. Id personally just refund them while its in limbo and take it as a loss and if it ever shows back up then you at least got your item back.

I seem to recall that buyers were getting refunded based on whether they they were provided the return address by either eBay or the seller … and not by who actually bought the label. The latter makes ALL foreign returns risky then, since the buyer always has to buy the label.
