Buyer doesn’t need to show proof?

I sold a brand new phone after 2 weeks. Had a protective case on it the whole time, no scratches. Even my selling pictures showed this.

Close to a month after selling it the buyer says it’s got scratches and opens a case about.

He gets his money back, doesn’t have to show proof of any scratches even though I have proof it didn’t have scratches.

No more selling on EBay for me. It’s turned into a scammers playground.

Re: Buyer doesn’t need to show proof?

You don’t have proof it didn’t have any scratches when the buyer received it. Asking buyers to prove their claims, doesn’t prove anything in the end. If the item really wasn’t scratched, all the buyer has to do is scratch it and take a picture.

Its disgusting that they can get away with this.  Why will ebay do nothing to protect us sellers.  It makes us sick at our stomachs.  Sorry to hear that about the phone.   Best regards

Phones are generally a problematic sale, so sorry that is so.

He is supposed to be sending it back.

I am surprised Ebay doesn’t let him keep it and make me pay his phone service. 😂

Be careful what you wish for around here. It just may be in the next update.

As upsetting as it is - a seller has got to educate themselves of the pitfalls on any venue - not just Ebay.

Did you respond to the case and request the phone be returned to you before issuing a refund?????

Re: Buyer doesn’t need to show proof?

It looks as though PayPal refunded him already even though the notice from eBay said not to pay until you receive the product back.
