Hello!
I’m new to selling on eBay and I recently had an offer made for one of my items for more then the asking price! But the message sent seems fishy:
”Hello how are you doing, i will like you to accept my offer so that i can make payment for the item asap and you should text me on (205) ###-####. Thanks”
and when I checked this Buyers profile, it was just created today.
is this a scam? I don’t want to message the number.
thanks for your feedback!

Yes, it is a scam. Do not respond outside of ebay messages. Do not give your PayPal address or your phone number. There is no necessity to for them to buy with an offer. They will send a fake PayPal message saying that you have been paid and the money will be released as soon as you upload tracking to prove you shipped.
Block the person and report it to ebay.

This person did not make you an offer, if they made an offer, they would have hit the "Best Offer" button and entered an amount. That's an offer.
What this scammer did was to attempt to entice you to call/text them to take communications off ebay, to try to get your paypal email or for other nefarious reasons. This scam is very common on ebay.
So just ignore them, block them but don't text them.
