Buyer circumvented block

Just had a blocked buyer open a new account today to purchase an item. Bought and paid for it.

We did a back and forth last evening in messages and a block was the result.

I reckon if I wanted to, I could cancel with "problem with Buyer's address" and report the buyer for circumventing the block and protections would be in place.  Is this correct?

Yes you can. I had this happen some years ago. I reported the person for circumventing my block. Ebay canceled the purchase and blocked that buyer.

Reporting both accounts? Are these appropriate reports on the buyer? Just looking for the forum wordsmith's feedback.

Report New Account:

Buyer circumvented block placed on account XXXXXXXX and opened this new account today as YYYYYYYY to purchase this item. Buyer has violated eBay policy by circumventing the block.

As per eBay policy, I am cancelling this order with reason as, “problem with buyer’s address”.

Report previously blocked account:

Buyer “XXXXXXXX” was blocked from buying from my account. Buyer “XXXXXXXX” opened another account today with the eBay name of “YYYYYYYYY” and purchased an item from me, thus circumventing my blocked buyer list. This is a violation of eBay policy.

Buyer circumvented block

Anyone have that thread where one of the Blues was explaining cancelling an order because a buyer circumvented a block?

I searched and came away empty.

Hi, I couldn't find anything actually searching through these threads...BUT...I did save in my email the following thread from April 30. It is lengthy, but see comment 42.

Now, I know our "regular" Blue also reiterated later on (couldn't find it, but maybe a week later?) that if a buyer has circumvented your block, you can immediately cancel the transaction and use "problem with address." Now at the time of April 30, they were going to revise the Reason choices for cancelling, but don't know if that has  happened yet. Things change around here all the time, so hopefully someone who has "tried" this new BBL option to cancel can come here to verify. Good Luck...
