To my understanding the address ebay uses would be the address of record at time of payment.

So if the buyer changes their address after paying it should have no ill effect on your sale.

Yes there is an unknown factor in all of that but I wouldn't worry about it unless you hear further, as they say around here, no news is good news.

That being said I always print my labels through ebay to make sure...

I assume you shipped to the address that was in either PayPal or eBay. That is what you stick with!

Some people will ask to ship to the gift recipient this time of year, but if you do that, you open yourself for "item not received". You will not be protected.

Just let the package run its course at this point. If they moved and forgot to change address, it will come back to you at no cost. If they still want it after you receive back, they need to update their PayPal or eBay to protect yourself and you request shipping funds through PayPal to ship again.

How do you know they changed their address? Buyers can use any gift address they want as long as they pick it when they pay. I do that all the time to ship to my dad.

I'm in MP now and even when I pay for things, I don't an option to select "gift address".

Because they emailed me after I mailed the package and said the address linked to their pay pal account is their old shipping address and forgot to update it.

Yes, I had someone ask me to ship to a different address in PR, and I told them that I would be happy to if they changed their shipping address prior to purchasing. They then proceeded to cuss me out, repeatedly. They, by the way, are not new to eBay.

Maybe stress.

Definitely blocked.

That's unfortunate for them. Since you used the address provided with their payment, then you are covered. Possibly they can submit a mail forwarding order at the post office or it may be returned to you.

Purchasing should still work the same. When you go to pay you have to verify or pick a ship to address--that is where sending to a different address is available.

Yep.

Anytime you pay here, the checkout area shows your address. You can change that address to anywhere you need to send a package. It doesn't matter if the seller is in MP or is still with Paypal. When you change the address and pay, THAT is the address that will show to the seller, and that is the address they should ship to.

You are required to ship to address provided when customer purchased item. If you ship to different you void all EBAY protections.

If you have NOT printed label yet...tell customer you will "cancel their order" and ask them to purchase again (using correct address).

You are NOT liable because customer didn't provide correct address.

When package gets returned to you...you should only refund "purchase price" of item (they are responsible for shipping).

You don't select "gift address." At the "checkout" screen, your eBay "ship to" address is displayed. Right below your address is a link labeled "Change." That's where you would change the address to your mom's or your uncle's or your first-grade teacher's.

When you click on "Change," it will show you your own address again, and give you the option to edit it if necessary. It will also display any other "ship to" addresses you've added in the past (if applicable) and give you an option to "Select" or "Edit" those addresses. Finally, it will give you an option to "Add a new address."
