Buyer Told Me There Was No Box Damage

Buyer contacted me after delivery and basically accused me of shipping them a different product that was damaged. I asked to see photos of the box which they wouldn’t.

I get the return back and it’s all lumped up. You were going to get a return once you requested it. Why lie about there being box damage?

Anyone have any luck putting in USPS claims?

I'm not clear how you would know when the box got damaged since it was shipped back to you.   Do you know if the item is damaged?

Thanks for the reply. Yes. That was the issue. They received it damaged and told me I sent them something other than the original photos, but said there was no box damage to explain it and wouldn’t send me photos.

My experience in dealing with USPS claims is ... if the item got damaged, it was not packaged well.

Oh man. You again. You know you don’t have to comment on things, right? This is supposed to be a community where people are actually trying to help one another. I really hope you are this way with dealing with your customers.

Yes I do treat my customers this way.

If they ask me a question, I give them an honest answer.

Feel free to disregard my answer if you don't like it.

I haven't had an issue with insurance claims but haven't filed one in awhile. File an insurance claim through the USPS website. You received the item back so just take photos of the damage and see if the USPS accepts the claim. Of course refund the buyer cause you received the package back and just block the buyer.

You will NOT be able to, or have ANY luck with a 'damage' claim since the item was now 'double shipped'. The ONLY way USPS pays, is:

a.) the box shows damage (and not just a 'little crunching' as they will blame the packager for 'poor packing'

b.) the package MUST be available at the 1st Shipped Location for possible USPS inspection (ship it again back to seller and package is 100% NOT Eligible for ANY insurance).

c.) USPS no longer accepts 'photo's for insurance claims for damage

That is not even significant "crunching." If that was enough to damage whatever was inside, then no, USPS will not pay out a claim for that because you did not pack it properly.

I should note, I have received boxes that looked FAR worse than that. The items inside, however, were just fine, because they were in fact packed properly.
