I sold a $50 item and the buyer, probably by mistake, seems to have selected a shipping option - Local Pickup - I offer on all my items. It's been 2 weeks, with no message from the buyer, so I asked him, and he said it was a mistake.
Anyway, is there any way I can send a request to the dear buyer, to pay another $9 for the shipping? I don't mind eating it this time, because the $50 item has been sitting in the "dead listing" category for a couple of years. But I am curious to know if there is a way to request payment outside of Paypal, now that most? ebay people no longer use Paypal.

Just cancel it using problem with buyer address
Relist it...don't futz with the additional shipping, asking for money, etc. It's not worth the hassle and headache.
"He said it was a mistake" means he doesn't want it anymore.

cancel as problem with buyers address and get your eBay fees refunded.
To the relist add the option to ship.

As said, cancel as problem with address.
Relist. And up to you if you want to message buyer in case they might still want it. Although sounds like not the case.
