Buyer Requirements Activity Log

I am trying to control the amount of non-paying bidders i have in my auction listings.  I have implemented controls in my seller account to restrict bidders with 2 or more unpaid item claims in the last 12 months.  Looking at my options to limit unwanted buyers i came across the Buyer Requirements Activity Log.  It is really disheartening because the log illustrates just how rampant non-paying bidders are on Ebay.  The log shows each time a restricted bidder has tried to bid on one of my listings.  It provides information like the date, item number, username, and feedback of user.  My question is, why does every restricted bidder have an account that says no longer a registered user.  Some of these accounts have been around since 2002 and have over 10000 feedback. There are users that I would like to look up and decide for myself if they can bid on my auctions, but Ebay is not providing the username and instead it says that the account is no longer registered.  Thanks, J

Re: Buyer Requirements Activity Log

To the best of my knowledge, the only defense you have against chronic non-paying bidders is the one you have mentioned,  not allowing bidders who have had two nonpaying cases in twelve months to bid on your items.

My question is, why does every restricted bidder have an account that says no longer a registered user.

"Naru" users have typically been thrown off ebay...........so they can no longer bid/buy on ebay........

Re: Buyer Requirements Activity Log

     You can further reduce the non-paying bidders by turning on the advance payment requirement in your account settings if eBay has not already done so for you. While it virtually eliminates non-paying buyers it comes with some trade-offs, limitations and the potential for other situations. But to enable it from your account settings click on selling preferences.

Click on Edit in the Your Buyers, Managing who can buy from you.

     Near the bottom check the following two boxes. This forces a buyer to provide payment information and when the auction is complete the buyer does not have to do anything the payment process is automatic .

Re: Buyer Requirements Activity Log

I have the same issue and wish somebody could answer this. I just see an "*" asterisk for UserID, and then if clicking on it says what you described - "No longer a registered user". What's the deal here?

@theodocia

It means they cannot sell on eBay any more.  If they're permabanned, they cannot buy either.  Either for a prior suspended account or they were selling something they weren't supposed to sell on eBay.   This thread was created in November of 2023.  Most of who posted here won't usually come back.
