Greetings All,
I have a buyer who is claiming they did not receive the item purchased Sept. 29, 2024 & mailed Sept. 30, 2024 even though USPS tracking states it was delivered to the address they provided Oct 2, 2024.
I have been selling online here & elsewhere for 10yrs and this is the 1st time a buyer in claiming a DNR. I have emailed the tracking info back as a boiler plate response. But what further steps do I need to take in order not to be scammed. The buyer lives in a building with a concierge desk, so there's that to add to the issue. Thank you.

Try to be helpful. Ask if they checked with a neighbor, ask their postal person etc. If they open a case just follow thru and provide the tracking number when asked. If it shows delivered you should be ok.

A case has been opened already, and I did contain the tracking info in the email to buyer in a polite message. The buyer stated they live in an apartment complex w/ a doorman staffed concierge desk where packages are sometimes dropped instead of their mailbox. The issue for this buyer is not with me the seller, but on their end at their concierge desk no doubt, where the package "disappears" after being delivered.

I would suggest reaching out to the post office and start a lost package claim also. That way the post office has a detailed report for the buyer. It happens rarely that packages are reported delivered when they are not. They have GPS scan tracking on packages and can tell what location a package was scanned from. out of over 8k sold I have had this happens about 5 times. Very rare cases but it could happen.

You have to enter the tracking number in the item not received case that the buyer opened on eBay. You may also suggest to that buyer that they check further with the PO. Also, there is such a group as "porch pirates". Last year at holiday time, they followed Amazon and other delivery trucks around neighborhoods.

You need to upload tracking into the case to prove delivery of the item. As long as it shows delivered your job is done. It is a buyers responsibility to ensure a safe location for the delivery of packages.
If the buyer has a porch pirate they need to report the theft with their renters or homeowners insurance and file a police report.

It is on the buyer to do the research on where their item is. The seller's job is done since tracking shows delivery.
It's the buyer's responsibility to ensure a safe location for delivery of packages.

Your item shows delivered with tracking so buyer has to do search at his end, you should win case.

USPS would close this case almost immediately since the tracking shows the item as being delivered.

Yes, I did reach out to Ebay CS and they told me the same thing. The fact that the buyer has stated their packages are sometimes dropped at their apartment's doorman staffed concierge desk makes the case even stronger in my favor.
