What’s the best insurance options to cover fraud and expensive items being sold on consignment ?

Everytime I hear the "cookie jar" method, I cringe. At the rates of returns/refunds here, the cookie jar will be in the red.
If you are looking for a policy in re: fraud and expensive items, you can find one, however, the premium will be super expensive. Just like eBay, the insurance carrier is only out to make money (and not payout) and I will bet the farm that the premium will be expensive and too many claims, the policy will be dropped. If you just search the internet, I am pretty sure that you can find a carrier. Good luck to you!

It must be risky to sell on consignment. What happens if 3 months later you get a chargeback and the owner is long gone? If you can't afford to lose it, don't list it.

@somanytreasures2015 - if you stick around long enough, you will find out that @sam9876 normally have "standard" repetitive answers, especially when it comes to insurance.

I had business insurance when I had a brick and mortar store - it was my second largest expense behind rent. It wasn't about protecting my inventory or covering fraud - it was primarily for liability - in case someone tripped and fell in the store.
For the purposes of ebay - my homeowners policy covers my inventory as it is in my home. Insurance to cover fraud or expensive items sold on consignment would probably be much more expensive than any losses suffered.

Has anyone with the insurance file claim for retail buyer fraud case they had gotten?

What kind of fraud?
Most frauds are criminal in nature, and the first step should be to file a police report.

Using your feed back with 15 neutrals and five negatives for evaluation purposes I doubt you could buy insurance without taking out a second mortgage.
May I suggest you work on eliminating any future negatives and neutrals. That might be your first line of defense in avoiding problems

Following the rules, using Paypal, and selling it yourself is the best insurance and it is absolutely free!

"Insurance that covers us as a company with with us selling valuable items of our clients just in case the item gets returned and we have already paid the consignor the and they refused to give the money back to us to cover returns."
That type of insurance does not exist.
