I'm glad this topic was resurrected....
not specifically to you tracieandchris...
business policies deal at least with shipping and paying, what happens to your current listings' shipping and paying choices after you opt out? I think I'm like a lot of folks, while listing, I didn't really know I was building my current giant list of business policies, I thought I was just offering customers different options based on probable best shipping costs available to them at checkout. So now I'm here with about thirty different shipping policies, many with only one or two listings using them.
What happens to the details in my curent listings when I opt out of the business policies program? When you list now, do you just save your shipping/handling/payment details in a template? I do know that being out of the business policies program, the handling time option will appear as a bulk editing choice, and you can change all your listings' handling time to whatever you need for your vacation or trip.... step the handling time days down as you get closer to getting back to work and able to ship.... put a note on your site and when something sells, send a note to the buyer making sure they're okay with the delay or cancel the sale no problem... this way your store never has to go on vacation...
I guess my only other option would be, as mentioned, to stay in the business policies program and to change the handling time in each individual shipping business policy, and back, every time you won't be able to meet your shipping obligations.... obviously best in this instance to consolidate the shipping options down to the minimum you can work with....I think I can get my thirty or so down to five or six, though it will limit options for the customer....
thanks... zman

Hoping that some people might still take a look at this one. I am dealing with this issue myself yet I have about 100+ different shipping policies to sort through in order to change the handling time for on catagory in my store. All with different weights and dims for all of them. I need to change the handling time to help incresase my listing visability and was hoping someone could shed some light on what happens to my exisiting listings attached to these policies when I "OPT OUT"? When I opt out and opt back in will it delete and clean up the policies I no longer use? That would help but not neccesary I am more concerned about the status of my active listings. Also when opted back in does it act as if nothing happened with the policies and they all come back when I "OPT IN" . Thanks for any help.

WOW! I have spent hours and hours online emailing eBay to try and fix why my freight items didn't allow me to change handling time on them. They were fine until I clicked the button to clean up my business policies then everything fell apart! Couldn't edit handling time, there was no option and eBay put all my large freight as same day shipping!!! I had to opt out of business policies then The handling time button showed up and I was able to change them. What a nightmare!!!
