I really wish Ebay would bring back the old system for Feedback , Where Sellers could give Negative Feedback to buyers!!! I have had the 4th person in 6 months send me a message "oh by the way cancel this" or " my financial situation changed" and other excuses followed by " Thanks for understanding",,,,No I don't understand as these are suppose to be binding contract yet Ebay does not hold the buyers to it because without buyers no Ebay,,,Well it goes this way too without sellers and our product there is no Ebay either!! There is no accountability any more for a buyer to follow thru,,These supposed cases we file against them and give the strikes is a crock of you know what!!! Eaby should either bring it back or have a system where the case number against a buyer can be seen!! Like the old days Sellers could block people with too many negative remarks against them from even bidding!!,,PLAIN AND SIMPLE BRING BACK THE OLD WAYS!! MAKE BUYERS SEE THE RESULTS OF THEM BACKING OUT ALL THE TIME!!

Dealing with PITA Buyers is a reality of online selling. Extremely frustrating. The inability to leave negative feedback for them is also extremely frustrating.

eBay is all about retaining buyers, even those who don't always pay, in case someday they actually do pay for a purchase and eBay gets a share.

Not much you can do but put them on your blocked buyer list and report them for nonpayment.

Forget the numpties - better days are ahead.

Honestly, and not meaning to be one of those old guys that laments about better days gone by, I don't recall ever having to leave or wanting to leave a negative feedback for any buyer and yes, I was pretty much selling from day one when I made my account.

Times have changed...

It was found that a buyer would just close or not use that account and start a different one with out the neg feedback.

It was pointless to do such so it was solved by "no negative feedback for buyer".

Not going to change.

Ebay is a selling website; Retail Selling.

The concept of being able to leave Neg Feedback for Buyers was WRONG from day 1.

Good thing they figured that out.

After all, do you expect to walk up to the neighborhood Target store and see a picture of you in the window stating 'bad customer!'??

Just kidding you and maybe the time has caught up with you but yes we were able to do it for years,, I have only been on a couple years more than you but I do remember it ,, I like you didn't have to think or do it often because as I said there were actions taken against those you constantly got Neg for buying,,, Back when Ebay actual held people accountable and really booted them off the site for failure to pay all the time,,, and to answer a previous remark this is why I dont believe Ebay does a thing,, When is the last time you seen a Not a registered user in feedback numbers and a bunch of positive remarks,, you dont,,back in the day lol,, you would see several Negative remarks about the buyer and they would be removed,,,Just does not happen and the reason why,,, Sales mean money

Bad analogy because years ago you COULD walk into a store and see pictures (copies of drivers licenses or cctv stills) of bad check writers, shoplifters, etc. posted on B&M walls.😄

In the early days of ebay the two way feedback made sense because it truly was a trading community. As things evolved it outlived it's usefulness. Buyers who cancel can be frustrating but it sure beats shipping something across country and THEN having it returned.

Two way feedback in todays ebay? Nah, we got bigger fish to fry.

Right, my point being that even though it was available, I never had to use it. Maybe lucky I guess. 😁

What's funny is that if you look at your really old feedback as a seller, about 75% of the people who left it are unregistered.

Yes, back then, we could block members with a negative feedback score (-1, -2 and so forth) but we could never block members who had just received negative feedback. As long as they received positives to keep the number above 0, there was nothing that could be done about that.

Years ago a buyer with several negative feedbacks for not paying where removed from the site and in their feedback next to number was not a registered user remark,,,So when is the last time you seen someone who backed out of a sale of yours and continue to be on Ebay with all those nice positive feedbacks be removed,,not registered any more,, You dont,,,its simple sales mean money and the system is set up for buyers to stay on the site and continue to buy no matter how much it hurts the seller
